Re: LS cam/lifter failure

poor quality grind from Comp, pretty much the root cause.

8620 cores can be sourced from CamMotion...And they will usually be polished and smooth looking !

Re: GM LS AFM/DOD question

I doubt anyone knows...what sane person would put those lifters back in if they have DOD deactivated via tune anyway? I've heard many instances of folks around here putting regular lifters on the DOD camshafts, with no issues. The reported misfires and stuff I am not sure if they are internet lore o...

Re: Aluminum 5.3 lost oil pressure thoughts?

dannobee, he changed that screen/filter that's under the sensor already with no change I've done that 2x now on my '09 LFA engine...once the gage starts fluctuating I put a new screen in and it's good for another 30k+ or so I'm guessing at some point the screen won't be the fix, and the pump will ne...

Re: 3D Printing - Cool Assembly Tools?

that subject was a few years ago, but as for printing that design...not an issue at all. I have printed several in one piece, and been using them for years. if I were smarter I would have done the adjustable one though...instead of printing 4 different fixed sizes LOL.

Re: Ls 3 cylinder walls cracked

I've only seen that with LS2/3 blocks if a valve drops or piston chunk gets stuck between piston/head. not seen it with detonation on engines that I know were detonated....so I'd say that's uncommon. when I find a cracked one as mentioned, I save the blocks to use for Darton sleeving projects down t...

Re: Dodge 3.6l vvt Saturday airflow project

it appears that lower and upper are bolt together type, with seals around the ports. Looks like it would be easy to port the bottom part, match to the cylinder head, and port match where the upper and lower plastic parts join. Flush everything good with a pressure washer to remove debris

Re: Best molar sb stroker heads

I was in the market about 2 years ago, and compared most of what was available at that time. ended up getting the Edelbrock performers, and doing a good bit of grinding to them for a 408 street / strip engine. I chatted with a local guy Brett Miller, who at the time was working a project with BES (b...

Re: vortec 6000 cam bearings

The other number I have is CH25 That is listed for 2007 - 2013 ? I have not seen the CH27 yet Durabond has no parts with that number according to their website. They list everything else, though. Including all of the single under/oversized bearings for any other part # you check. Ch10, CH23, and CH...

that block should use the CH 23
newer p/n CH 27 has same OD/ID and wider, those would fit too.

They come coated and with rings too?
The mahle stuff comes hard anodized, with 1.0 /1.0 / 2.0 ring pack.
includes pins

coating would be extra...not sure if Mahle will add it or if you would need to send it out separate after receipt.

Re: ICL on stock ls cams

if you are concerned with CH, Mahle has a piston part no. for a 4" stroke using stock rod 6.098 and .945 pin. it's in the new 2019 catalog if I recall, and they were 4032 material I believe, so piston to wall can be tighter use those with stock rods, one of those 'cheapy' 4" cranks....and ...
