Re: Edlebrock E Tec 170 on 350

Lots of heads I'd buy NEW before the eddy's

Why do you want that valve size?

Are the eddys new or just a good deal?

Re: How to flush a converter?

Prob a good idea to use an aluminum hollow plug, idk what TCI used but I'll assume it's balanced.

Re: How to flush a converter?

I recently bought a New TCI converter that came with a drain plug. Was kinda surprised since I never seen one before but they put it on the outer back towards the outside, looked like 1/8 npt if I rem right. Imagine they did it that way so it could be drained in the car.

Re: GM CT350: Another Question

Wish I went GM back when I bought this atk crate https://youtu.be/JyEFm7ee3Hk Or at least pulled all the covers/plugs and fogged it down right when I got it. Funny thing is the 355 I mentioned earlier has been sitting for over a decade in the same garage w/o problem and I didn't fog that engine, so ...

Re: GM CT350: Another Question

I've shifted my 77 350 stock shortblock 6k idk how many times both gears. Far as I know it's never been out of the car.

Also had a 70's four bolt that was shifted at 6k and sometimes 6500 that I rebuilt with a northern kit, diff cam of course but used the hyper pistons(factory rods/bolts/crank).

Re: DIY Cubic Inch Checker / Whistler

Unless you can level the cylinder or make the plug hole the highest point, filling it with fluid won't be ideal. Ring seal aside.

Honestly if they can't prove it then that is a bargaining chip to lower the price or a reason to walk away.

Re: Annular Booster Quandary

I like annular for a cruiser(Street/Strip) Just from googling a pic of the demon blocks they remind me of the 3e hole QF blocks and I didn't like them. It's not so much the 5 or 3 holes(you don't gotta use em all) it's more the overall design of the metering blocks that is better in my opinion based...

Re: HV oil pump/too much oil on top Q

Belgian1979 wrote: Fri Dec 31, 2021 3:53 am Boot, what do you suggest for improving drainback?
Like mentioned clean up oil drains, I'd also improve crankcase venting. A dry sump would be nice but external drain lines could also be added at the rear of the heads.

edit: Never done the drain lines myself but seen them.

Belgian1979 wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 8:20 am What about using restrictor type pushrods? I would rather not reduce oil to my lifters (roller lifters) as the car is run on the street.
I agree, read on here people using rollpins for pushrod restrictors. Still I'd prefer to improve drainback before restricting.

Re: Cast Iron Chamber Mods: What burr and cartridge rolls?

I'd use a stone to blend those edges since their iron and also some old valves. I like to use stones on iron heads for some areas(chambers) and then cart rolls after.

Smaller stem and Hollow prob would be best but I'd choose smaller stem over hollow if the head needed guides anyway.
