Re: intake manifold torqueing
Also of course the torque needed depends on the strength of your bolts to achieve proper stretch, young me would just throw in some hardware store shiny gold grade 8 But current me will be happy with with grade 5 or even hardware store low grade SS(at a low torque). [side rant]ARP or Chrome everythi...

Re: intake manifold torqueing
When I was young, tight was good enough but as I got older I try n torque everything(now being able to afford multiple torque wrenches). That said oil, thread sealer, thread locker, anti-seize And crowfeet or I've read excessive extension length & multiple extensions effect torque! Some by as much a...

Re: A game changer in the flat tappet world ?
So would you break in a flat tappet cam like normal And then switch to these lifters Or use a cam specificity for them???
edit: Also I assume this would make flat tappet cams with these lifters more reusable engine to engine.

Re: Billet sbc oil pump
I have an older non-ST version of the Billet Melling that I got in a good deal. It's a nice pump, even with the lightest spring it had more oil PSI cold/hot than my old stock type pump But I did mod/port it a bit for flow.

Re: Clover Lapping Compound
"non-embedding compound" Reminds me of a post I made on a machinist forum years ago asking bout what hone grit to use for some cast iron holes. Several proceeded to tell me how I'd never get the girt out and maybe it would never be all out But people hone valve guides, cylinder bores and mains every...

Re: Clover Lapping Compound
Tried some of the Permatex 80036 Valve Grinding Compound 4 Grit In One tube 120 150 180 220 and it seemed to work fine at first but then left grooves. Must of got some of the finer grit at first then some courser that made the grooves. I read somewhere the Permatex was like 80grit, so decided to get...
