Re: Question: RPM Air Gap Porting

I clean up & prep every intake that I use, don't like doing it or think it helps some much but... no stone unturned. Casting can hide flaws until you sand it.

This is basically what I do and why https://youtu.be/xQpwhGJ1ID4

Re: Fedex problems

Fedex sucks, they always deliver my packages to the wrong house. I've called and complained multiple times.

Re: Tuner anybody know?

I messaged him in May and he replied but if you click his profile to see the last time he was active, it's blank.

Looks like he may have been banned or deleted his account, since his last post was about censorship.

Maybe try him on another board.

Re: Valve Face Thermal Coatings

Ok ok term Nazi's =D> LOL Long ago I was taught that the Head is the Face of the valve and it's stuck in my brain that way. I know some get confused because of the Seat-Face and that is part of why I started over on a video because I put Face for the Head on the board. Knew it would catch the Nazi's...

Re: Valve Face Thermal Coatings

DV touched on this subject in his head porting book. It was near the back of the book, chapter 11 page 137. Dan DV has mentioned it many times I'm sure, saw him say it in an older video a few years back(80's or 90's from the quality if my memory is right) and again in one of his recent youtube ones...

Valve Face Thermal Coatings

How does it hold up? Does it last on the street or is it only really for a frequently serviced a race car?

Re: Double intake gaskets

If I was gonna glue two gaskets I'd prob try 3M weatherstrip adhesive. At least that's what I've read might work.

Re: New Motor: Strange Oil Leaks

The second issue could be the thin parts of the head gaskets where they meet the intake manifold as mentioned above. Mine go up to the edge of the head, but I didn't put sealant anywhere on the head gasket. It could be flowing out to the outsides of the heads there somehow. That is what people are ...

Re: Tapered head gaskets

In the past I've cleaned up rusty iron head decks or blocks and used those cheap felpro blue head gaskets  Lasted for years on an occasional cruiser that saw many passes until I tore it apart, there was signs of a few small leaks but it didn't smoke :D

Re: New Motor: Strange Oil Leaks

Had some heads done by a new-to-me shop and one side leaked in the rear corner(tip) of the headgasket. As others said I'll use some RTV on the tips from now on when installing the heads to save me trouble of pulling one But I've never had that problem before. Also think I read it's a common problem ...

Was the block decked or heads resurfaced? Did you use MLS head gaskets?
