Re: Ford 6.2 As A Performance Engine?

I hope i'm on the right track , imagine a Ford 6.2Lt V8 block ( whats the deck height ? ) with a bore‎ = ‎4.015 inches (101.98 mm) and sneak in a crankshaft out of a 5.4Lt Triton Modular V8 stroke of 4.17 inches , that is some serious cubic inches. AND use the ford Boss 260 5.4 4V Modular V8 heads w...

Re: Home made engine dyno with Superflow brake

Hi turbobaldur any updates ? I actually come across this new dyno forum run by I think Jostein Fonneland , http://yourdyno.com/community/ . He has a very interesting dyno hardware/software product out called "YourDyno instrumentation kit includes all you need for dyno data acquisition" see...

I did see that fluctuate up and down of 1ftlb of TQ bouncing around and thought maybe that's where the engine is happ...

Re: Missmatched combo performing very well?

KnightEngines"]To add fuel to the fire here is the dyno sheet from another street/strip 355 I built late last year, VT iron heads, harrop intake, 11.8:1 comp, 264/268 on 109 solid flat tappet cam, 1.7 rockers & about .630" lift. Runs on pump swill, headers are custom tri-y. Certianly ...

Re: Missmatched combo performing very well?

KnightEngines I'm not questioning your workmanship nor the capabilities of this engine. But without certain changes, taking it well over 8000rpm at his stage is futile. AS you said.

Maybe exhausted could shed some light on the topic ????

Re: Missmatched combo performing very well?

Peejay are we talking about KnightEngines's thread posted engine??? or is this your engine ? or is KnightEngines your engine we are discussing? And yes the peak TQ and BHp is very coincidental ????? I'm not basing it on TQ? We all know TQ drops off and BHp continues to rise with RPM. I'm in the drag...

Re: Missmatched combo performing very well?

I would of changed gears at 6300RPM based on the engine dyno result " 6500RPM ----429.0FtIb---530.9Bhp " maybe run faster again. BUT the header change stuffs things up. As Gary said, what one is planning on running on the vehicle should be run on the engine dyno. Definitely exhaust can ki...

Re: Large capacity Modular engine

Gentlemen One reason I ask is that over recent times it appears many US engine builders have been getting significant capacity increases by going to ever longer strokes. I had seen small blocks going as far as 4.5” previously and thought that was getting up there. The 4.7” stroked Ford Modular is t...

Re: Missmatched combo performing very well?

What car is this engine in? Are you sure the car isn't lighter than 3400 lbs? The weight thought run through my mind as well. if the vehicle has a weighbridge docket to confirm exact weight. LH/LX no maybe a HQ series or a Commodore ? don't know this factor at all, that why I asked for more details.

Re: Missmatched combo performing very well?

What RPM on the spreadsheet correlates to 530.9 Bhp @ 429.0 ftlb of torque as the first digits are all cut of in the picture you posted. Pity the other sensors where not hooked up while testing.
