I try to always set the throat on the exhaust no larger that 88%. I have tried larger but did seem to flow as well (maybe it is just me). I don't know if that helps in some formulas. I don't even know if that is the thing to do to make the best power. I would like to know how you came up with the r...

My problem is the throat size on my exhaust is already 90% of a 1.850 valve. If I put a 1.800 valve in, my throat (just below the bottom cut) is still the same size and now it becomes 92.5%. I follow all of your intake side mach numbers and from that, it would appear that I am fairly close to where...

eric, water will give you patterns and help your understanding. It does replicate burn patterns. It's cheap, won't explode and can teach you a lot.
