Re: Which Megasquirt?

As this is discussed, I'm also doing plenty of reading. I've read the MS2 and MS3X hardware and appicafion manuals. I've read the tunerstudio manual and watched some videos. I've done the same with maxxecu. I looked at the AEM and some other "affordable" systems. From what I can see l, MS...

Re: Which Megasquirt?

Motec has always been a top brand, but in earlier years it was just too expensive for the average hotrodder The last 4-5 years the pricing has come down alot, they even released some simpler lower cost versions but those are not available anymore afaik Everythign MoTec I'ver ever touched has been rea...

Re: Which Megasquirt?

I have not tried the MS3 only some older MS,which was utter crap in my opinion :) Have you tried some other standalones other than MS3? I did quite a bunch of research before going MS3, I looked at close to a dozen different units before deciding. Haltech, Holley Dominator, FAST XFI, MoTeC, Big Stu...

Re: Which Megasquirt?

Waste spark is fine but batch or semi-sequential fuel kind of sucks and that's what you'd be stuck with if you choose a 4cyl ecu like a microsquirt. There seems to be proponents both of sequential and batch. (And “enthusiastic discussions” about their merits) The only proponents of batch are the pe...

Re: Flying toilet on a duel plane intake ?

The toilet is tall enough that I've bolted it to a crossbar nitrous plate and it cleared. I think it is a dumb idea to bolt to a divided intake, but yea it will clear it. Here is one of the motors that I have toilets on. Should be able to see the pivot of the blade http://i.imgur.com/wdl9LIel.jpg Di...

Re: Flying toilet on a duel plane intake ?

I guess no one uses google image search before replying to a topic. The flying toilet is just a simple mechanical fuel injection system. I don't see a problem with running a dual plane, the fuel nozzles don't care what path the air takes through the manifold. I've run all sorts of dumb shit through ...

Re: Rocker arm geometry change

Are you sure it was just the head gasket that was changed? No valve job cutting the intake seats deeper or anything like that? I am going to have to agree that it was probably wrong beforehand.

Re: A low flush toilet that actually works

At work I used vacuum toilets. They require VERY little water, maybe 2liters at most. I don't if anyone uses them in houses, but if you manage to clog one with human waste, you are superhuman.

Re: Thinking about selling whole shop... (Cylinder Heads)

Did you have a shop in Fayetteville? I'm surprised I don't recognize the equipment, thought I knew all of the shops in the area. There is a shop in the area with a older DCM, but I've never had the chance to use one.

I work on a ~20K HP 4-Stroke engine now. Not nearly as big as the ones I used to work on.

Anything in particular that you want to see? I'm about 8 hours from Cristobal, Panama and will have to transit the Panama Canal in the next few days.

Re: Fuel Injection Vs Carburetor: What Makes More Power?

Just a related comments to consider: I have read the term “dyno queen” to describe an engine quite a few times on the internet. I am not really sure I believe such an engine exists. What moves a torque meter, should move a car, I would think. I can see a huge difference in engine performance betwee...

Can you run a closed loop freshwater keel cooler setup? Coupled with a little bit of a head tank above the pump on the motor and you may be able to make a stock pump work.

I think you mean adding a sump to the tank with a little pocket in the lower rear of the tank.

I don't know what speed you need them at.
