Re: Thinner piston pins and moving pin up in the piston
ok so , its about rpm range too , rod ratio , if your not going to get to avail of he effort , also where in the power band you want the torque , thats the first decision , run a tooled steel pin , we have an engine on 19mm ran 513 before with what came with the pistons , but running tooled ones now

Re: NA Engines: Factors that increase torque
ok so i missed that well then , compression , highest airflow with the smallest CSA and a small cam to run the rpm range , both manifolds will be a factor , then as you want hp you move the tq up the rpm range with changing the cams / and manifolds again with the end result redowing the head and cam...

Re: NA Engines: Factors that increase torque
i think there is more in the question
increase torque , trough out the rpm range , or a peek tq number , do you want this in a rpm range , or just torque , as in under 5252 , or torque to drive up hp at higher bhp at revs

if its only bent valves dont move the guides
i did end up haveing to do this my self and was told the guides were the size but when fitted there not , but as i was setting up i had bought the reamers and the set up for seats , so unless you can see the job trew , dont

Re: Who here actually drives an EV/HYBRID?
so , over here , vw and audi have to notify the firestation when they are removing a battery , and a few i know of are stating batteries have to be remove before entering a spray booth ,
in short there will be no accident repair of these

Re: Anybody have any experiance porting poor flowing Toyota jeads?
cleaning up the port with out enlarging it , i run all toyotas out 1mm on std valves Do you mean that you enlarge the ports up to 1 mm across to clean up the port without enlarging the standard valve size? i mostly play with boost with these but all honda and most toyota even n/a i have always open...

Re: Why do engines with a MAF sensor still use an o2 sensor?
Everyone forgot sensor redundancy including em , at that time it would have being 2 sensor redundancy now its 3 , so while it has a function it is also the back up for another failing and also a tool for the computer to flash the engine light

Re: Engine braking to reduce strain on brakes
The race bike builder i often mention , had 3 riders , and had 2 different weight cranks between them due to completely different riding styles , but yes , 2 were also completely different on brakes and had completely different cams compression due to 1 having to have engine braking to match his sty...

Re: Why do engines with a MAF sensor still use an o2 sensor?
alot of big agro here so begin , which stuff are we talking about , early i'd say , narrow band lamda , EGR is generally only on full on over run and only percentages come in otherwise ,depending on criteria , and that includes the fan cutting in , we will often see 30% egr and the air flow MAF will...

Re: Short turn shape for carbureted vs multiport injection
I might have missed a few posts , but best not compare 2 completely different tings , so DI direct injection , was there for economy , back in the day , take Mitsubishi GDI , it was capable of running 54:1 lean , now i cant remember that being a different ssr , but do not compare modern DI engine as...

, i have being asking this , i see a rule i=of 2.5time the engine cc , but this i only see when refered to boosted engines , but none of the inlets look 5lit on a 2lit engine , but [ still not i cannot get an answer to the second question ] maybe its at the intended boost pressue as , this would com...

Re: What is the risk of crankcase imploding when pulling a vacuum in the crankcase?
funny just thinking here , he must be of the opinion he will achieve serious vac , so i was visualizing this pan problem , this is not dry sump , so its full of oil , so the oil sitting there would have to be lifted first , i think the bigger problem will be the oil suspended in the crankcase as tho...
