Re: Block choice for SB2 heads

I used a dart iron eagle raised cam block with BBC cam size.

Worked out well, but like mentioned the rockers and lifters (roller) were tricky with offsets.

If I were to do it over I would use sb2.2 layout in block and stick with solid (non-roller) cam.

Re: Holley 4di Projection cleanup and texture experiment

T.b.i. is low pressure to begin with. I would not want to lose the small amount of atomizing the system has. You may be right, that may work. Thanks, Charlie Try it...at idle there is no atomizing...it’s all crashing into throttle blades and dripping through... You could use solenoid to bypass pres...

Re: SBC water pump questions

I’m thinking at that RPM with a big heavy fan hanging out there is putting a huge load on those bearings... also consider that fan is likely not balanced all that well ...hammering the pump even more. Might consider an electric fan to ease the stress on pump..and eliminate the blades chunking throug...

I have a very hard time watching the digital WB gauges in real time...

Always thought the analog style would be easier to understand at a glance...

Also, the bigger the gauge the better.. 2 5/8 below:

Re: Intake manifold floor...?

Actually water injection mist pointed down each port...

My concern is for the bar/ structure on the floor when not activated...would love to see wet flow video on manifold.

Intake manifold floor...?

What kind of activity/importance is there on bbc intake plenum floor? Looking at running a spray bar on floor of intake?

I’m curious if there is any flow restriction or disturbances if mounted to plenum floor...

Opinions?

Re: Distributor Gear Wear

Could be bottoming out on oil pump/drive shaft. Causes a lot of drag an wear on gear. Especially a concern without adjustable collar on distributor and milled parts.

Re: Low pressure in-tank fuel pump

I’m kicking around an idea... What are my options for converting a Vortec FI fuel system to a carb compatible fuel pressure? If I go this route, I’m thinking that a low pressure in tank fuel pump would be ideal. I’ve read too many bad things about people trying to regulate the factory 58psi fuel sy...
