minium intake valve to piston clearance
I am wanting to change the rocker ratio on my big block chevy. I put light springs on both int and ex valves lashed the int valve and checked clearances at the appropriate 10 degrees btdc and atdc settings. Int was .098 with .028 lash Ex was .160+ . so my concern is with the int as the new rocker ra...

profiler spread port tunnel ram vs sheet metal
I plan on some up grades to my 588 chevy drag race engine.I have talked to three different shops about a sheet metal manifold for my engine and they need the cylinder heads to do the manifold. I do not want to take the engine apart as it only has 8 passes (1/8 mile) and I don't think that the motor ...

Re: cam bearings in brodix aluminum 5" bore space block

It is 17 weeks fora block! thank you again for ...

I am considering building a big cu in motor and was hoping if someone here could post a couple of pics on how the Babbit cam bearings are retained in the block. Also are the roller cam bearings preferred over the Babbit cam bearings and if so, why? I really enjoy this forum. THANKS garym

Re: hypereutectic piston questions
Thanks for all the input. I have ordered the sealed power H518CP+.030 hypereutectic pistons enginetech moly rings , engine bearings, and a FelPRO complete gasket kit for under $370 dollars which I think is pretty reasonable. So now I have to price out the machine shop prices. THANKS garym

BRODIX 5" BORE SPACE BLOCK QUESTIONS

Planning on doing a 738 or 761 engine and have not decided on babbit 60 mm or 55mm roller cam bearings.A few pics would be great along with thoughts on babbit...
