Re: connecting rods weighing question

any thoughts https://theultimatetooling.com/en/product/rb-110-conrod-balancer/ Interesting concept. Artsy but there appears to be a lot of monkey motion going on. Since it doesn't read provide output numbers it looks like it is a mechanical comparator. It does not show a line or a marker indicating...

Re: Porting, Using a Mill

Since you don't have to contend with a left - right valve arrangement and you have cut them all the same way you only need to test one cylinder. I would wait on testing until you get one chamber and ports where you want it. Show the flow bench owner the money. Otherwise you will be perceived as just...

Capri,
Stu Hilborn is credited with the creation of MFI after WW2. At the time I think he was involved with Bonneville type racing.
Some info here.

Re: Surfacing aluminum head on a model 85 rotary broach

Concerning that bolt on tool bit. You will notice that it has a wide cutting edge. That was to make up for the lack of feed control. Take small bites. You have been warned. Make sure the head is clamped real secure. You have been warned Practice on a junker first. You can experiment with the cutting...

Re: How to sleeve a 350 the right way?

What everyone else said. Sleeve it with a ledge at the bottom. Green loctite. A lot of the time I would smear some all over the bore but you have to be quick in getting the sleeve installed. :D =D> If you can use a right angle drill or adapter with a short drill bit, drill both ends of the crack. Th...

Re: 427 bbc rotating weight

Why the hell would i build a comp engine for a mostly all street vette. Exactly. Hey, you were the one throwing out all kinds of stuff about lightweight this and that which had zero to do with the job at hand. Seriously man, if you have questions on an engine build ask them. Just don't start going ...

Re: SBC Crankshaft main journel sizes

Modak,
I think you over explained it. He was looking for crankshaft dimensions not clearance considerations.
At least that is the way I read it.

Re: 427 bbc rotating weight

You have done this before?
So why all the wandering questions?
If you are building a high rpm comp engine then the word reasonable does not apply.

Re: 427 bbc rotating weight

Build it with BB parts and be done with it.
What you think you want is only suitable for a high winding, light weight Comp Eliminator type car. Been there.
