Re: CNC Heads?

You are going to need to provide more info. Generalities don't flow well around here.
Brand, model, etc. for a start.

Re: New pistons 73g heavier

Anecdotal story...... Stock rebuild on a previously rebuilt 396bbc. Many things were more screwed up with the build than originally quoted for. Balancing wasn’t in the budget. Bought stock replacement Badger cast pistons for it. New pistons weighed 60g more than what came out of it. I reasoned that...

Re: Artificial Intelligence to Design Lightweight Parts

Just curious is that what they used to design those cracking parts on the 737NG? I still think the old slide rule dudes in the past had a better handle on stuff. Not even close to true Jet airliner fuel efficiency has nearly doubled since the 1980's Then why do they claim the ever rising ticket cos...

Re: Oil drain back

Mark is correct and you answered your own question.
Your initial idea would plumb a gravity fed line into a pressure fed line.
Yes, it will go the wrong direction and essentially send the pressure to zero.

Re: EFI conversion - return line backpressure

Ok, As long as you see the pressure you want to the injectors then yes it will work.
Only alternative at this point is a smaller gph pump.

Re: 20th century manifold reconfigured for 21st century

Trucked, With proper welding I don't see a problem. However INLINE 6 IF it was a real big deal then I would make a race manifold for pulling season and swap out as needed. I do think I should point out that using a working tractor to compete is not realistic or financially feasible. Similar to cars ...

Re: 20th century manifold reconfigured for 21st century

Is there some rule that says you must run a cast iron manifold? A dangerous thing but I was thinking it would almost be easier to make a new manifold from steel tubing. If that is an acceptable thing to do I would make the collector come out wherever it needs to be. I would then get my favorite shee...

Re: 20th century manifold reconfigured for 21st century

Great Post Harry!
IF I am ever forced into such a project I now know where to begin.

I might add that if some construction material is needed McMaster keeps some cast iron in stock.

Re: 20th century manifold reconfigured for 21st century

I have no science to guide you.
If you go to all the trouble to modify a cast iron manifold it just seems more logical to do something a little more symmetrical.

Re: about a Nitro cackle engine

It should be noted that IF nitro flames is the most important then it can only be done at night.
IF Flames is all that is required faking it is a possibility.
