Re: Prove it to me....Camshaft Gear Drive is a HP Killer
I don’t know the weights on my Manley Pro-Flow valves. But they are 2.025/1.685 w/ 3/8 stems and bead-lock keepers, Ti retainers. Valve sizes are dictated by rules. Manly would not provide hollow stem’s; said you wouldn’t notice as this size valves are inherently heavy. Last year I ran to 8k every g...

Re: Prove it to me....Camshaft Gear Drive is a HP Killer
FINALLY got the AMX with its Milodon 3-gear GD running 03/22/2024 and made 9-passes 03/23 and 03/24. Shifting at anywhere from 7K to 8K and the camshaft is still in place, no junk in the filter, and can’t even hear it w/ open headers (although I thought I could hear it in 4th gear?). Amazing, I thou...

Re: Most aerodynamic Muscle Cars?
I just checked the CD (online source) and my ’70 AMC AMX is listed at .48 CD. Have no way of knowing current CD but the car is considerably lower than factory (have to lift the car to get a low profile floor jack under the front). That has to help the CD, right?
Interesting NASCAR article there.

Re: ETAPRO version 5.0
It looks like you don’t need engine dyno numbers. I do not see that transmission gear ratio (all forward gears; specifically I’m interested in manual transmission gear input) is asked for. Would like to see a program that user can input various gear ratios on transmission and rear-end and effect on ...

Re: Racing parts sales scams
Ive recently been posting FB ads on car parts and I state in the ad “if you want to, I’ll Face Time you with me and the parts”. I figure that should ad some level of assurance to the Buyer I’m for real. I also state “pick up the phone and talk to me about the parts and potential sale”. I find that p...

Re: No more King XP bearings
Went thru this tolerance issue on a 4.6 modular Ford during COVID. Three, maybe four sets of bearings I went thru before I got a set to work with mix-n-match. Was using King and Levite.

Re: stinger
I just bought a complete MRT ignition. The two boxes appear to be wired together as it was when pulled from the Peck and Peck Pro Stock Gremlin; a west coast AMC sponsored vehicle. Also came w/ a Chevrolet tach drive distributor grafted to an AMC lower section. I think that the distributor is transi...

Re: Prove it to me....Camshaft Gear Drive is a HP Killer
Yes, great article. Al are all of these “tech” articles, basically a sales pitch. But if you read it and put some common sense into your interpretations, then you should be able to discern the issues and benefits of a gear drive and 3-gear quality unit over a 4-gear that has obvious mechanical desig...

I was at the speed shop yesterday. Milodon 3-gear drive: $560
ProForm 4-gear BBC $135. And what does one expect for 1/4 of the cost?

Re: Prove it to me....Camshaft Gear Drive is a HP Killer
Indy lite series (don’t remember the years) ran Buick V6’s exclusively and all had Milodon gear drives. Over 1,000,000 miles and not one failure attributed to gear drive “issues”

Re: Prove it to me....Camshaft Gear Drive is a HP Killer
Update on my Milodon Gear Drive: I have seen a lot of confusion on the internet about this so I thought I would ad this for posterity. Just degreed the cam today. This is the easiest deal in the world to degree. I used a 9” diameter Crane degree wheel instead of my monster sized Moroso so that I cou...

No, not enough room for resonators at the back end.
Yes to any of the Walker mufflers mentioned.
Something to think about....reproduction mufflers for a C-2 Corvette. Probably the quietest and still reasonable flow for that 360.
