Re: intake texturing alcohol fuel

In the past lots of discussion about the benefits of texturing intake manifolds and runners. From my experience it seems to work, with gasoline as the fuel. I did not see much on texturing when using alcohol as fuel. Since the fuels have different evaporation rates, does anybody have experience wit...

Re: 202ci intake manifold ideas

There's a reason Holden went to RB engines :p But really I'd go 2x4 in a spreadbore format, even if it is just a drag car you'll appreciate the tiny primaries being able to move the car at less than full throttle. Sounds like you won't need much airflow though. Does your class ban efi? no class jus...

Re: 202ci intake manifold ideas

Steve - 12 port will max out around 210-220cfm, maybe 230 with 7mm stem valves, 50 deg seats & all the tricks. If you wanna have a bash at it I can do you 1 cylinder to copy. I have a couple of heads and I am going to cut one up this weekend and have a look, I have my valve grinding equipment now s...

Re: 202ci intake manifold ideas

a new side project 200ci inline 6 with 12port head and intake manifold. Looking for feedback if this intake/plenum idea will work, carbs undecided so can adapt 2 x 2 barrel carbs or 2 x 4 barrel holleys. The end game is around 450 hp with progressive nitrous fogger, car will be geared and converters ...

Re: 202ci intake manifold ideas

Sidedraft Webers are pretty hard to beat for tuneability and fuel distribution right ? especially on a Holden 6. Is the setup more about the look ? Don,t get me wrong - different is great ! Mainly something different, I think once I start working a test head and flow test with intake bolted on the ...

Re: 202ci intake manifold ideas

What's your goal power wise without nitrous? That will determine your intake csa more than anything. A well developed 202ci engine at 7000rpm is going to be making north of 300hp by itself, making that amongst the most powerful Holden 6's ever built I would like to think around 280 is realistic, I ...

Re: 202ci intake manifold ideas

I've seen a v8 Trimatic run 10.8 behind a 383 in a not stripped VC, so those can handle the punishment if built. There's also the Duggan or Jzed head for that motor. Much more downdraft port. What car are you running it in? PS if there's no rules it would be killer to see a turbo efi Holden six do ...

Re: Stock Eliminator secrets?

In a traditional internal oil pump/wet sump application : -Is it advantageous to pull a slight vacuum in the pan, if possible? -Are there any detriments to doing this? -Is some positive pressure in the crankcase ever a good thing? I thought for a while on these three questions,I doubt there is a si...

Re: Ford Windsor 408's HP Plateaus @ 5,600

One thing that seems odd to me is how close the tq and hp peaks are to each other. As a comparison to something with quite a bit smaller heads....... 416” SB Mopar, bowl blended Ede RPM heads(170cc..... flow about 270, 2.02/1.60), SV intake, old school solid cam with smooth ramps, 265/270-106, 1.5 ...

Re: break-in oil

I have used BR 30 for last few years, yes its expensive nearly $300 20ltr here in Australia but worth it. I mix BR30 and Joe gibbs assembly grease into a runny paste for engine assembly. I don't have dyno so I drive my car to track ,run a meeting then home then change out break in oil with no issues,...
