Re: LS3 Carbed build

Chad,
just thinking out loud.
can there be a issue with the long pick up on the oil pump.??
not sure if vacuum could hold the oil in suspension (so to speak) in the pick up pump area,
are you thinking stock pump not up to task at the rpm??

Re: Switching from 45 to 50 deg seats - done some testing

She looks pretty Tony, real nice. With the jesel how much spacers under the bar, on my 215 darts you had there, I had to add 2x 0.100" jesel shims to get good sweep. That is with 0.100" longer valves. I like the position for vac pump pick up, Is that where they all go when you set them up. Anyway, l...

Elroy,
I think you would have a lot to contribute on this thread, I enjoy the information you have shared on dyno testing,
There are some people here that have there finger on the pulse so to speak.
Alot of this is way beyond my experience level, but I am here to learn. :D

Re: Dart 180 cc alloy head as cast

Both ports may have same mass flow until the pressure in the cylinder is greater than the Port starting reversion, This is where the smaller port can help overfill the cylinder producing 100% plus VE but valve timing events will dictate this to a point. This is where cfm/in2 of pinch, throat, valve b...

Re: Dart 180 cc alloy head as cast

I wonder if people on construction forums talk about the best way to build something using the industry stnd measurements and lingo or if they just turn everything into arguing that 1 foot really isn't a foot? :) It is just strange that the few who want to start this argument year after year after ...

Re: Dart 180 cc alloy head as cast

Everything I do here with my CNC stuff is done at 50".. You will see stuff at that pressure you don't at 28".. on my bench i can flow 400cfm @ 28'' i have checked cfm and velocity to 40'' i think it could go 45'' on a small port or exhaust port. my pitot is electronic and can be corrected to depres...

Re: Dart 180 cc alloy head as cast

i think Randy's question -how much cfm do you need in a running engine?? was valid as different depressions have not really been mentioned here, please bare with me as i am not the smartest person around. some calculations i made (only rough ) 383 ci cfm demand at peak piston speed approx 76deg atdc ...
