No.
You could use bigger intake ports because since your now going to have twice as much fuel vapor taking up room that was air when running gas.
You could well use more lift also.

Re: New type Engine Rev Limiter
Do you folks know how bad the added loading of a crank is when a rev limiter system is employed that drops out cylinders!

Re: C10 350 eddlebrock 1826S won't run right
I have had much experience with the AFB type carbs over a 50 year period, in fact once with the two I had on my blower motor I had my fuel regulator go bad and only allow 3.5 psi, yet the motor was was idling away as if nothing had took place!

Re: C10 350 eddlebrock 1826S won't run right
Setting the floats will do nothing towards getting the idle mixture screws to work friends! All that matters for idle conditions is that there is enough fuel in each bowl for the motor to idle on, now if your talking about the accelerator pump working right, then that's a different story! Question f...

Re: crazy engine rebuild
At best if the heads are something like 461 castings and have 2.02/ 1.60” valves it will make like 435 hp with that cam’s .500” lift and 10 to 1.
Even with factory iron Vortec heads running only .500” lift he’s looking at only 470 Hp!
He’s being told a line of pure crap by that builder!

Re: Eagle connecting rod burnt cap
I would not count on the rods tempering still being as what’s needed, and I mean both halves of the rod seeing as the big end is showing discoloration also from what I can see.

Re: Valve lock ok to use?
If you need to just get the heads bolted back on and move the car around in the driveway or such, then yes it’s safe, but otherwise you should get new ones.

These old heads need to take a lesson from replacement Harley hemi heads that now have a squish area to make more power .

Re: Head Studs
With only 8 psi of boost your not even going to double the hp of a NA 400 Hp motor, so in thinking this all over again I am getting the feeling that the tune was off enough to make for detonation in the cylinders your having issues with. This should be able to be seen on the spark plugs under magnif...

Re: Opinions/Experiences with Total Seal Quick Seat
If your not going to use a plateau hone for a final finish, then I say use it.
That being said the other good thing about it is that it will change color if you still have more bore cleaning work to do.

Re: Head Studs
Come on gang!
Where dealing with a Aluminum head here!
Even if the OP could get his hands on 400,000 psi studs it just would not F.ing matter, especially if it boils down to just plain needing to get another head bolt in place.

Re: Conventional BBC heads
If it’s Aluminum it can be fully repaired for far less then 4600!
I hope you install top shelf valves this time around even if you have to spring for new heads, that is if the distruction was the valves fault in the first place.

Re: Head Studs
I have found that especially with the added expansion rate of running boost with Aluminum heads that unless the heads deck surface is mirror like that the fire ring can get chewed thru kinda fast. You can try the old Pontiac, Olds, buick trick of adding another 10 ft lbs to the head bolts that are t...

Re: Head Studs
You did not give any detail as to this motor , how muchpower its making and if it's doing so by means of boost or Nitris. My opinion is is that studs will not be a cure for your issue. Have you confirmed that the head bolts near the fire ring where you have leaking taking place is not bottoming out,...
