Re: Project SF-110 upgrade

In terms of 120 volt and having reserve current you can wire in another 15 amp outlet that's on another breaker, you just need to confirm that when pretesting with a voltmeter that across nutral to neutral you DO NOT get on voltage reading and then hot to hot you get no voltage reading either. This ...

Could you post up some specific examples of how the word transition was used in a sentence or two that you have read?

Re: Reuse of Rings and Bearings When Deglazing Cylinders

Four strokes with a 320 grit ball hone followed by a super good hot soapy water wash down, and then new Moly face rings will get you back to being golden. If you want to get instant seating like factory motors do these days then get a plateau hone also to use as a last step. The least amount of brea...

Re: 440 Mopar combustion chamber??

My best guess is that it’s a support pad for a machining operation, but not a reference point for such. It looks like your using the Mopar performance porting temple kit? If so that’s all well and good but be careful to not remove too much of the factory bottom cut, as it needs to be left at least ,...

Re: SBC Dart 200 Platinum Iron Eagle heads

A few things .
A boat tail was added in front of the intake guide.

The rear of the bowl is deeper which makes for a tighter turn from the roof path to the rear wall, this also made the exit vein taller at the rear of the guide.

The chamber unshrouding cut was changed on the shallow side.

Re: SBC Dart 200 Platinum Iron Eagle heads

The Platinum series of heads have a good amount better fuel management then the earlier 200cc heads did from Dart, and some guys expect a bolt on power gain without going thru a jetting loop session.

Re: hypereutectic piston questions

A Moly face top ring is what the motor left the factory with in the first place, if not double Moly. If you have the funds for it I would go with a forged piston since they run cooler and gas will not be getting any better , and pinging from such will take its toll on Hyper’s pretty fast with the po...

It does not matter a dam bit unless you drive with no hood on and in direct Sun light. As then you would want the shinny one.

Re: Unique Engine – More Power Needed

Since your banging on the sonic brick wall now at 5500 rpm with your valve size and port area, my guess is that stepping up to a 2.100" valve and it's added curtain area will only serve to pick up mainly low to low mid lift flow. With no increase in the size of your minimum port area this extra flow...

Re: Edelbrock E-CNC 185 Heads

Yes, those exh flow numbers would say tested with a pipe to me so triming them back by 4 to 5% starting at like .350” would get you into the ball park for numbers seen with out a pipe.

Re: Unique Engine – More Power Needed

If you don’t have one then make a close fitting crank scraper. Have you played around with longer spark plugs for better/ faster flame travel? Only 147CCs for what sounds like a long 5” exh port? Anyway big time congratulations on the level of power it’s making now! What you’ve done is no easy feat!!

Re: Strange SBF problem ...

The old tried and true practice that has served me well of painting a collector extension with cheap enamel paint and then cutting the collector shorter 2 inches passed where the paint has started to burn off will put you well in the ball park of the overall length that is needed. A major key to get...
