Re: Camshaft/Connecting Rod Interference

You beat me to the above reply!

First and for most any internal combustion motor in terms of it's power production must be looked at as a air pump

Re: Is the exhaust header tube diameter too big for my engine?

Diameter is more important if a length, especially if the run of exh tube off of a port will have more then one 45 degree bend in it, or doubly so if there are two bends or more of 90 degrees. Do you know what your heads flow, if so what is the exh to intake ratio of you have? Do you have a cam in h...

Re: Camshaft/Connecting Rod Interference

The big question I have is with the limited air flow these motors with a stock amount of CID ( as in VE percentage) why are you making that even worse with such a big stroke increase?

Re: New Dart SHP 200cc Heads

With heads that where developed with a big concern to wet flow as the Darts have been as late, noise is secondary to me in terms of the the intake port, in the exh port noise is very bad! If I hear noise from a intake flow test when I have the intended manifold bolted up , then as long as I don’t se...

Re: Camshaft/Connecting Rod Interference

Also what the heck will the rod to stroke ratio be even if there was no clearance issue?

Re: Parts for Keith Black gear drive

Since new gut's will cost a good bit anyway I would just get a new Milodon set up since if I recall right it fits in a stock timing cover with 5 minutes worth of rework.

Re: SBC How Much HP with FP 90314 ?

Well if your taking aftermarket heads and offset push rods then what size valve are taking about along with the amount of valve lift to calculate the curtain area, 2.05” , 2.08” ?

Re: SBC How Much HP with FP 90314 ?

A well thought out race motor should make 115% VE. ( many hi end motors make more! ) which could tack on another 85 to 90 hp to that 596 number.

Re: SBC How Much HP with FP 90314 ?

Just like anything else that your flow testing a given area at the flow numbers seen depend on the test pressure / depression that was used. If a test that was done at 10” and showed 150 cfm was then done again at 28” you would then see 250 cfm, and on top of that this is all tempered yet again by t...

Re: Olds 374 stroker

If your running enough valve lift to access the heads 250 cfm of intake flow, then yes you have 480 hp or so.
