Marc salvisberg @ factory pro is a big proponent of tuning with a 5 gas analyzer.

A 1.88 rod journal in a bbc sounds very flexy
Cylinderheads and camshafts are where power is made.

Re: MERGE COLLECTORS,WHEN TO USE,HOW BIG A CHOKE AND WHY

With a proper firing order like a 4 cylinder you can go real small like just bigger than a primary tube and then you can attach something like a megaphone and it will run good. You see abrupt large changes in area reflect strong scavenging effect over a narrow rpm range.... Small gradual changes in...

Re: 2.0L MZR header and exhaust length testing

On a low overlap engine scavenging ability is not as important. The Long header is full of tight bends. The short header looks terrible on 1 and 3. Can't believe the price of that stuff. I think this engine may like a stepped header. Also on that Intake What if you created a machined adapter plate o...

Re: heptadecagonal hone job - Howdy Doo-it ?

How does it happen? just like a rotary engine gyrates, just how a Reuleaux Triangle rolls, like a gear-rotor oil pump works. How the knerl marks magically line up when you are knerling a shaft. There is no axle, no center of rotation on a hone head. IMO ....how does it NOT happen more often? I thin...

Was trying to determine if the engine installed in a truck was a 366 or the 427.
It's for sure a tall deck. Just not sure which variation

Once you go smaller hide your findings inside some big diameter dummy primaries to confuse the competition
To keep it light you want 0.8 or 1mm wall

Re: 12k rpm 289 cuin

W/r/t rpm isn't a huge issue What breaks the rod? RPM^2 × reciprocating weight. 2.875" stroke @ 12,000 RPM is not 50% more tensile load than 8,000 RPM, it's 125% more. Compared to when prostock was turning 12k+ (I heard 14 but seems like a stretch) With a 3.5" stroke and a 4.750" bore Probably make...
