Re: Source for Tulip Head Valves

Thanks for all the responses. I guess I’ll have to go the clay or epoxy route. May also be able to take a old mopar valve with a 3/8 stem and turn it down. My interest in the tulip valve is for flow testing, but it’s not to see if a tulip valve is better. I’m measuring velocities around the perimet...

Re: Oil Pan "Pulse Separation Walls"

Interesting. Trying to put order in the chaos within the pan like this will probably have diminishing returns, but I have a hard time seeing at the moment it could get worse than it already is. Trying to solve an imaginary problem is one thing, but with this being mostly hypothetical, I havent hear...

Re: -12 Brodix Heads

I've had 2 dirt late model engines with -12. Eric did one set for me 60/40 made 787 on a 400. Second set were ported when I got them 70/125 had the bigger intake valve.Made 798 on a 406. One had an old intake 15/18 (I think ) second I bought from brodix , intakes can be hard to find. Just curious w...

Larger bore generally helps the heads....

Re: DOHC w/ Finger Followers = Broad Torque AND High HP?

im not sure they backed off to 100mm for combustion reasons, they added 2 more cylinders like their motogp bike big ass twins DO take up alot of room in side view, IMO a V4 packages much nicer where you can afford the width. and going to more/small cylinders with the same b/s ratio or even a lower ...

Re: DOHC w/ Finger Followers = Broad Torque AND High HP?

what about comparing powerbands
im not aware of a widely used standard like X rpm over 80% peak torque.
I think many would be shocked to see just how WIDE modern motorcycle powerbands are even if they dont start at the lowest rpm.

Re: DOHC w/ Finger Followers = Broad Torque AND High HP?

well, your not going to get a 4v head with SOHC and buckets, less you use (a) rocker arm(s) for the exhaust. A few considerations, LARGE buckets allow high acceleration but are velocity limited, rollers or radiused followers are acceleration limited, but not velocity limited. It may be worth conside...

Re: Ford announce plans to return to F1 from the 2026 season

The Aurora was built in England. The engine is probably most related and inspired by the 2.0l pinto than anything. 4.016" bore centers, 8.169" deck height, bore and stroke were slightly different, but nothing that couldn't be overcome if you were gonna go that far. Aurora 4.0l 93mmx73mm 2...
