Re: LS 243 milling
I have no experience of those LS MLS gaskets but I have disassembled similar gaskets and used what amount of layers have suited my needs many times on high cylinder pressure Japanese turbo engines.

Re: GT45 Turbo For Dummies
Perhaps you can find a good used mitsubishi evo 4 or newer turbo, 280 hp stock and room to grow. These have divided turbine housing that would be nice on flat six as you could keep both banks exhausts separated and that would help with back pressure. Could be a bit big still for a stock motor but th...

Re: GT45 Turbo For Dummies
I did built a mild 350 tpi engine with garrett T51 turbo that has pretty much same dimensions that those chinese GT45 turbos. With 1.15 exhaust A/R it did spool to 8 psi at under 3000 rpm and was very well matched to engine. Did make 600 hp at the crank under 5000 rpm (about 15 psi) and is a very ni...

Re: Any small Engine guys on board??
Many small engines have a small bump on intake cam for compression release and if valve lash is big enough then it does not open intake valve for compression release and starter can not turn it over.

Re: C.I.H. engine
CIH is pretty short stroke engine buy 69.8 mm stroke and 95 mm piston (2.0 4 cyl and 3.0 6 cyl) but stock parts are heavy for a lot of rpm. SBC parts can be used properly modified, rods, springs, valves etc.

Re: C.I.H. engine
Only original crossflow head for those is very rare 16 valve version from ascona and manta "400" race homologation models.
People is cutting last 2 cylinders off from 3000cc 6 cylinder 24v head and adapting it to fit.

Re: Strange Water Brake - Dynamometer
My guess is that lever turns a water exit scoop inside the turning brake and controls water level and thus braking. Water is feed from above at proper rate to keep temperatures in control.

Re: Chevy vortec 350 hp max??
87 9:1 tpi with minor porting and a cam made 600 crank hp at 11 psi and less than 5000 rpm. Torque was limited to 660ft lbs with boost curve: 8 psi at 3000 rpm to 11 psi at 5000. Best street motor that I have made.

Re: Turbo "up pipe" size question
I have built single turbo 350 tpi engine with 4-2-1 headers and 1 7/8" inside diameter pipes to turbo. Turbo is T6 body and divided 1.32 exhaust housing (propably a bit less after modifications). Works well and exactly 500 rwhp . Daily driven c4 vette.
