Re: EQ IMCA Spec Heads
There are several versions of the EQ CH350I cylinder head. The fist version has the IMCA logo on both ends and also has "torker" cast into the head in valve cover area right over the intake runner. These are the actual EQ core box head. The newer version is a completely different (and bett...

I use a mill to do some port work. It's an old tracer mill though.

Re: Old pro stock question
I have a friend who did this in the late 70's. built a 327 Cleveland. Due to weight/per ci. They bored out block and he said you could put your hand in front cyl and take it all the way to the rear cyl and not touch cyl wall... They installed John deere sleeves and furnace brazed them in block. They...

Re: dirt oval track 4412 cam
Run the EQ CH350C head... I have done a bunch of them... put a 2" intake valve in it and use sunnen VSI-A17258 cutter on seat. The deck is much thicker on them. If you weld the spark plug cooling holes shut and redrill you can mill them down to 45cc area.

Re: SBC exhaust manifold comparison.
I did a bunch of testing on this about 20yrs ago... The top picture 305 style are one of the worst performance wise...
Best of the rear dump manifolds are the LT1 style.

Re: aluminum head repair
Brian the problem around here is I can't get anyone to sell me an Ar/He mix! That little torch is a lifesaver! I have a bottle of Helium hooked into my line with Y fitting. Then all I have to do is turn on both bottles and adjust regulators and I make my own mix... Helium is crazy expensive right n...

Re: aluminum head repair
I fix them all the time... If its just a small hole where you went through its really no big deal at all... just weld it and then recut the seats. I use Helium/ Argon I mix myself so it gets very little heat in head. Can be difficult to get good position to weld it but the WP-24 torch makes it easy ...

Re: cylinder head tubes
I use to always sleeve them. But have not in the last 10-12 years.. as long as you put a bit of silicone under the nut/bolt head I have not had any issues in 100's of heads.

Re: 487X heads
Buy a new set of EQ heads. Much better quality and performance and probably cheaper then fixing those. ch350I is 76cc chamber updated copy of a 441 head. CH350H is a 64 cc chamber hybrid head that uses all old style bolt on stuff with Vortec style chamber. CH350C is a Vortec style head and is much b...

Re: SBC stock valve spring installed height??
Iirc. The 943x are the z-28 spring.
1943x are .100 longer. Used several sets of those a million years ago on dirt track sft deals. Work good but would always break the dampener, but were cheap so just remove and replace.
