Re: Low speed (1500-1800 RPM) driveability issue
Light flywheel/clutch? That will definitely contribute to the pulsing feeling at low rpm.

Re: Hydraulic lifter bleed down
Thanks for the info. So it seems like the best hydraulic lifter would be a slow bleed down (tight tolerance) & short travel. Seems like a disk style check valve is used for higher rpm I guess? And that fast bleed down lifters are just a bandaid for poor spring choice, or some mismatched system t...

Hydraulic lifter bleed down
Is it common practice to check hydraulic lifter bleed down rates when building a high performance engine? Maybe at minimum buy extra and match them to make a set of similar bleed down rates? I've never messed with it before, but after reading a bunch about hydraulic lifters it seems lifter bleed dow...

Comp Cams XD-A Adjustable pushrods
Anyone use these? Doesn't seem to be much information on them. If they work as advertised that would be an easy way to use stock rockers with a solid roller cam in an LS engine. I definitely do question the rigidity of them being a 2 pc design though. http://www.compcams.com/Products/CC-%27Pushrods%...

Spark blow out
Would having spark blow out hurt the engine? Would having blow out with boost or N20 cause issues? I've always set my gaps a little conservative because I wanted to avoid blowout, but if its not harmful to the motor I would like to start increasing the gap till I find the spark blow out point. I hav...

Re: Anti reversion mufflers?
One of the things that Jim came up with were what he referred to as “header diodes”. These were anti-reversion chambers that were welded to each primary tube of a header. These diodes, along with Jim’s merge collectors, made massive torque numbers vs. standard headers. How good did those work vs th...

Re: evans waterless coolant
Does it pull heat out of the engine better then regular coolant? I would think if a regular coolant temp gauge shows the same temperature or lower with evans coolant, that could mean it is just not absorbing the engine heat as good as regular coolant I would think.

Well I guess I can add ITB's to my wish list. $$$

ITB's and cam overlap
Do individual throttle bodies "tame" the idle and low throttle drivability of huge cams with lots of overlap? I have read they do, but by how much? And if they do, what is the theory behind why? I ASSume the ITB's basically prevent cylinders from stealing fuel from each other.

Re: Long tube vs short tube headers
I did with a 369" small block Chevy. It was a hand built set of 1.75" shorty headers versus the dyno room set of 1.75" long tube headers. The motor made around 530hp at 6500rpm. Basically below peak torque at about 5000rpm the long tube headers made more power. Above peak torque the ...

Long tube vs short tube headers
Has anyone ever dyno'd back to back long tube vs good short tube headers on a hi horsepower, high rpm engine? And what was the HP difference? I ask because of course while there are several back to back dynos of this in magazines and other places, they always seem to be on engines that are fairly st...
