Re: Valve seat pocket depth
Are the chambers finished minus valve seats? Who is cutting the seat registers?

Re: Fama rugo 05
I and many others here are familiar with the Honeall and Sunnen's one pass diamond hones. My take on the video is this. Since it works like a honeall with multiple passes the only advantage is the diamond life over stone. Both will require some practice to get a straight hole without bellmouth or b...

After some advice on this diamond guide hone https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VQrJTD-n3yg One of my suppliers is trying to talk me into this over a sunnen hone all, but I can’t find any information about it in English, or much first hand experience. We do a lot of 5-6mm bronze guide work, plus the usua...

Re: Valve seat rim sitting proud in chamber - Detonation risk?
I’ve seen this issue many times on factory stuff. Seems core shift isn’t accounted for or something. The chambers get deeper in relation to the deck, while the seat ring stays the same height. Never seems to be an issue on standard applications, but I don’t like it either..

Re: Wireless / wifi borescope options
I know this one isn't wireless, and is a bit more expensive, but I have it and it works very well. Just an option to consider: https://shop.snapon.com/product/Shop-%26-Tech/Video-Inspection-Scope/BK3000 Thanks Mark, but that one retails for A$620. My last snap-on one has just failed the cable suppo...

Thanks for the reply.68maliblue wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 2:56 pm I bought one off Amazon 2 years ago for about $35. Works well and has been used many times for personal as well as professional use. Pictures are good and easy to use.
Do you know the brand/model? Does it come with accessories and do they work sufficiently?

Re: Wireless / wifi borescope options
Mick, if you're thinking of buying one from Super Cheap......I had no luck with it.....the signal dropped out all the time. Tried it with various phones etc....gave up in the end. Super Cheap has no tech support for it, and after searching to find the manufacturer, their tech was a waste as well......

Wireless / wifi borescope options
My traditional style bore scope has crapped itself, looking around there are heaps of options for wifi ones that you connect to your phone. They seem quite cheap, anyone have experience with these? Specifically iPhone compatible ones.
Thanks, Mick.
Thanks, Mick.

Re: Hot honing or not?
I suspect that some gaskets advertised as "no re-torque required" would benefit from the process but it's a hard sell to a flat rate mechanic, so they say "not needed" and cross their fingers. I can't see how a cold "back off a half turn and re-torque" could possibly h...

Re: COP vs CNP
I would go CNP with LS coils as well. More freedom/easier to mount, plus availability that’s hard to beat most anywhere in the world.

Not sure what the engine application or even budget is, but have you looked at Arrow rods and Omega pistons?
