Or just switch to mechanical rollers, and stop screwing around.

Re: high ratio rockers on sbc

For a given valve lift, a higher rocker ratio allows you to run less lobe lift, and a larger base circle. This reduces side-loading with roller cams. With flat tappet cams, the radius of the lifter face limits the max velocity you can move the lifter. With this max lifter velocity limit, a higher r...

Re: high ratio rockers on sbc

More valve open air flow area within the seat to seat valve events. The valve lifts higher and lifts faster. Usually increased rocker ratio benefits the intake side more than the exhaust on a typical sbc 23° cylinder head. Yes often more power and a bit more torque. The valve spring and pushrod hav...

novafornow wrote: Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:53 am It just gives you more lift and a little more duration. May or may not help. But it is simple and cheap.
Yes, thanks, I get that part but I mean on high zoot engines that run 1.7 and higher rocker ratio and were designed that way from the start.

What is your opinion ? a typical NHRA SuperStock SS/J Class Car will accelerate to these ET/MPH times : anywhere from 1.370 to 1.382 60 Feet ET's ....so you should expect to reach tho...

Re: Totalseal rings

Contrary to what you may read or have been told, gapless rings will not net you gains like you expect. They have a tendency to "flutter" which affects ring seal. No, Matt Hartford (total seal VP) doesn't run them in his pro stock either. Many dyno tests have proven they don't work as well...

Re: Totalseal rings

It’s just gapless top or gapless second and you still need to file for a gap they just have another ring inside that makes it gapless it kind of looks like a oil retainer ring. I wasnt tryin to get lazy it just seems they would be a ring that overlaps with no gap. Are they used much anymore? Never ...
