Re: ARP Head Bolts, Deck Plate, SBC, BBC
Hey thanks, I have the thread engagment down, spacers made to compensate and deck plate counterboed as needed. I wasn't sure what the thread lube sealer protocol for honing was. I believe i will use thead sealer as that is what will be usaed at assembly.

ARP Head Bolts, Deck Plate, SBC, BBC
Hey all, got a question regarding what to use on the head bolt threads when using a deck plate on an engine where the thread needs to be sealed? This pertains to using ARP bolts. Does one use thread sealer or ARP ultra lube for the honing step? Thanks in advance.

#8445 is the # for the complete kit? How about a part # for the fixed rotor individually? I Cant seem to find it on the Holley site.

MSD Cap Adapt
Hello all, I have a few questions regarding the MSD Cap Adapt setup. Does the adapter spacer use a standard Ford TFI/Duraspark cap? Does the adapter spacer have any phasing adjustment? What is the part # for the standard rotor? What is the part # for a SBC/BBC application? This is in regards to an M...

Could you make or have some rotator "eliminators" made? Think big block Chevy.

Re: Saftey Auto Parts Engine Bearings
I'd put the old ones back in. Done that many times, never had a problem from it. the safety brand is not necessarily necessarily bad.......... but it isn't necessarily good either. Bit of a gamble. That's the consensus here also. We will reuse the old mains and not look back. Now if this miserable ...

Saftey Auto Parts Engine Bearings
I'm helping out with a 2.2 Ecotec dirt track freshen up. Std Main bearings are a bit scarce with the main players out of stock or back ordered. I have one supplier that has a set of Safety brand main bearings. Anybody use them or recommend them. The crank checked out really good and was polished the...

Re: 4.155 X 3.250 SBC Build
Back in the mid 70's there was a friend in the Late Model class, 1/4 mile asphalt appx. 8 degrees of banking . 400 Block to get the bigger bore 4.125" with a 3.000" stroke 321 C. I. We used the bearing spacers without any issues. The RPM was about 8000 at the back off. No Rev. limiters th...

A follow up post, because they are rare. Engine is in, flat tappet break in went well. Runs way stronger than the stock crate 350 did. Here is the final parts list: Bare bones Mexican crate 350 with stock 18cc dish pistons. .022" below stock deck. Vortec 906 heads, mild pocket clean up only. L...

Doesn't really appear to be catastrophic cam meltdown. What lifters? Lifter Quality is pretty hit and miss these days, Lots of miss :(. I've seen new lifters stick in the collapsed position. Most shops around here are disassembling new lifters and cleaning and relubing them before use. Check your va...
