Re: SuperStock 461X 041X Heads and Dyno tests

I suppose your not allowed to use the W shaped or finned intake port floor. Would be a cool way to have fun with the port while complying with the cc rules. You can.. I tried it on my first engine. "I tried it on my first engine." did it gain HP ?? did it lose HP ??? or no difference in H...

Re: SuperStock 461X 041X Heads and Dyno tests

So Larry I know you will appreciate this. This would be the Edelbrock that would replace the 041. This set is for a 350/300hp combo.

While I appreciate the purest, the aluminum head is bigger in volume to be legal.

Had to laugh. Working on a set of Indy AMC heads. The shape totally reminds me of a 23º Chevy.

It's NOT very thick for dang sure. Needs a smaller water jacket under the floor.

Re: Total Seal zero-gaps

I can add that when I ordered my new CP pistons for the Super Stock engine, the first call was to the expert (no names) at Total Seal on what is the best rings to build the piston to. Long story short it's a $220 .7/.7/2mm set of rings.

I was responding to Speier about his car.
I got it as low as I could. Still has a 16" cam center. But I have to add weight so I will get it ironed out.

Re: NHRA STOCK valve job

Stock eliminator is not an entry level class and it’s not inexpensive. I’ve run every thing from Compitition eliminator to Super stock. I’ve stepping out of a Top dragster to stock and I feel it’s a tougher class and has more honor I would certainly argue that a good super stock engine is more labo...

Re: NHRA STOCK valve job

A stocker valve job does not seal on the 45 seat! Not all heads have O.E.M. seat angle of 45 degrees ... though, that seat angle rule does not seem to be enforced these days; I think the newest rules, as written, may even have that part deleted. OK, so I will rephrase it. Whatever the OEM se...
