Re: How much HP can this head support?

I did a set for Clint, car was featured in Mopar Muscle around 3/19.. It regularly runs 10.4's @ 128 mph and drives it everywhere. Full interior, all steel. https://scontent.fict1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/60469587_2749743158375655_2278381993345417216_n.jpg?_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-5&_nc_sid=730e14&_nc_o...

Re: Porting With an Electric Die Grinder

I have 6 Makitas and 6 air grinders going. The new GD0603, IMO, suck. Went through 3 in about 2 months. I have several older Japan units that I keep running, and a big box of junk Makitas. For air I have a couple Dotco, but I have 4 Cornwell air that have been going strong for 15 years. Electric to ...

With all this said, I just sized a 2.02 valve Super Stock head to 93% with a 45º seat and 40º top. https://scontent.fmci2-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/240663527_5018261571523791_8137050970352566108_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-5&_nc_sid=e3f864&_nc_ohc=R3IJM-CBXfIAX_ejPoY&_nc_ht=scontent.fmci2-1.fna&oh=7...

BBC PP 236 Flow numbers??

Anyone have some data on porting on a set? I'm finishing up a set with 2.19/1.88 and can't seem to find much data..

Thanks!

Re: Ball Hone New Bronze Guides

I have used a ball hone for a quick fix.

I have a really nice Sunnen hone set, never use it.

For the last 10 years been using carbide reamers, done.

No cross hatch, never had any sort of issue.

Re: Q16 or M5?

Chad,
Given that Q16 produces the same heat energy as other race gasolines, and slightly less than methanol,
why does Q16 make more power?
oxygen content, you can use more, and it burns better. My thoughts

Re: Q16 or M5?

I'll add my .02

I try and talk everyone out of running methanol.

Q16 makes more power, in my experience, by a big number.

SF600 vs Sanez D680

Had long talks with Harold about the differences in benches. Harold was proud of the Sanez and said all the known issues with the SF were fixed. I now have both and plan on researching it to see the differences. https://scontent.fict1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/229249754_4900868473263102_67123659...

Re: Port volume vs flow vs velocity

If we are talking 23º SBC, the floor apex trumps all MIN CSA.. Throw that out.. Prime example is a Super Stock port. 172cc and velocity is crazy high, it's all about the apex. And IMO, volume vs flow vs velocity is smart porting. Most guys the head doesn't flow what it should for the available area,...
