Re: Rod length
I will ask a couple PHD engineer friends of mine in that industry and see what there out look is on the subject and share it with you. Every "blank sheet" engine design I've ever worked on had at least a 2:1 R/S ratio. These are engines where the designers would love to keep things as sho...

Re: Rod length
If you have a 2:1 rod ratio you have a bunch of dwell, you also have a pig engine that wont accelerate unless the piston speeds and or engine speeds are insanely high! You may want to look at a few IndyCar and F1 engines, before you make a statment like this. They would never think of running under...

"to date I have to say the data I and others have collected might just prove his theory correct. So far I have to say,,, I believe he is right." I have to write something about my statement above. Just because I say I believe its true does not make it true. Just like when someone says they...

Re: Rod length
Will going from 5.7 to 6" rod increase piston dwell @tdc and a few degrees before and beyond tdc? And will this help flame travel across piston top? Stroke would be 3 75" Rod Ratio means nothing and has zero effects of any kind between 1.55 to 1.85:1. Below that its effects are minimal on...

I hate to bring an old thread back from the dead, but where can you get any of this A2370 prosthetic foam? All the places I'm seeing require affiliation with a Orthopedic company and I'm not comfortable yet trying to talk my way into getting it for porting heads in the backyard... They locked this ...

Re: Darin Morgan advice please.
you have to remember that this engine is intended for a beginner sprint car class. a class intended to get guys into sprint car racing. big budgets are for the 360 and 410 guys. outspending others will only lead to a class like this dying. the local track has a very good 360 team that built a 305 a...

Rustbucket & Raynorshine, It does not have to be expensive to out think the rest of the guys you race against, especially when about 1/2 of them are not serious about it and the other 1/2 are serious and don't know what they are doing. I have always said in any class at any race track in the co...

Re: Darin Morgan advice please.
Im building a 310 CID sprint car engine. It is a 3.766 bore and a 3.48 stroke, I have build one last year and I ran RHS Pro Action 200cc intake runners 50cc chambers with a 2.02 intake valve and a 1.60 exhaust valve, when I was mocking it up I have to notch the top of the cylinders just above the r...

Re: New Symetrical Port Australian Pro Stock Casting
Any more news or testing with this cylinder head? Many are in the works. The Proto type made 2.75hp/cid with ease and the engine has not been fine tuned. I have some Comp Eliminator heads in the works. It just takes time to build engine such as these. The head has only been out for a month and it h...

These are completely different heads. Nothing from the canted valve SBC can be used on or with them.TD509EFI wrote:Are the compound angles the same as Chevrolet's small block Symmetrical Port head? Re: New Symetrical Port Australian Pro Stock Casting
I am actually in the market for a set of heads. What is the minimum bore required for these heads? Will they fit a standard SBC lifter location block or is a special block required? Will there be cast intakes available or is a sheet metal intake required? Thanks John They do fit a std SBC lifter la...
