Re: 454 SBC?

I did a 428!
I believe you would use an Iron Eagle with higher deck height
We had to nip the pan rails a little because we did not use stroker rods. Had to clearance bottom of bores also
4 inch stroke .
I think 4.125 is doable

Re: 402 BBC?

I would sonic check the bores
Cylinder walls on 396-402 not as meaty as 427-454
Only exception would be 1965 396ci.

PDH from Australia sells a 2 piece on Ebay.
You could cut both parts and use countersunk screws to get you to 1/2" or less if you dare!
It looks like a nice design .

Re: What's the latest thinking in Cylinder honing techniques

YouTube Greg Anderson honing block for Lake Speed
160-200 grit to size then dozen or more strokes with 600 CBN
He explains the process and the surface finish and his thoughts on what and why he is doing it that way.

Re: Aftermarket BBM head

So you have a .060 over 361?
440 The Source has a 212 cc intake port BBM head. Would that be small enough?
I don't think the cnc 440 Source flow that well probably less than a comparable SBC or Ford Windsor head.

Re: Prove it to me....Camshaft Gear Drive is a HP Killer

In the early 80’s the multi position crank sprockets for AMC we’re in the wrong place… not enough advance. I used Dumont broach and made my own. I put the cam where I wanted it without crank key marked it and scribed the position broached it and presto exactly where I wanted it. Any competent machin...

New replacement aftermarket rods are better and made of better materials.

Re: Camshaft bore bushing

Ebay has KT52x58x17 needle bearing cage for sale. I believe that is what you are looking for. The OD of the block housing bore determines how tight the fit is on the cam. I did a lot of Thompson linear bearing installs where I worked . The stated ID is 2.0472 you may have to take a couple .004 of th...
