Re: Inducing swirl in a 4 valve head
This sounds easier than 4 different valve sizes.

Inducing swirl in a 4 valve head
Unlike the D.V. method, of using 4 different valve sizes, the Cosworth/Vette ZR1 motor, appears to be doing it with valve duration. One compaion int/exh lobe, for each cylinder, appears to have 10-20 deg. more duration,(opens sooner/closes later). Companion lobes apear to have ideticle CL's. Anyone ...

Re: 2 stroke pin problems
>> The owner isn't a customer, only a co-worker. I will try to get him to take a pic'. The +4 deg/key, is what is sold, only. My WAG, is this piston/pin design, is lacking adequate safety margin. Pin isn't in deep enough, doesn't straddle top/bottom of the ring land,(as do many other designs),isn't ...

Re: 2 stroke pin problems
2007 YAM. GP 1300 R, wave runner. Liquid cooled, on pump premium, zero detonation/pre-ignition. The top ring, locating pin, begins to have wiggle, in it's hole at approx. 44 hrs. run time, since new. Engine is "mildly modded", with offset key, for more ign. advance,(3 deg.), and .5 more co...

Re: 2 stroke pin problems
back when we did 1/4 mile speed runs with sleds at 150 mph after we had pistons coated never burned down again even when egts went through the roof.coated the pipes too. EGTs are inversely related to piston crown temps. The higher the EGT, the lower the piston temp and vice versa. Ring pins come lo...

Re: BBM Aluminum Heads...
For $400+ more he can have a hyd. roller, never go flat, faster ramps and smooth idle. Many of the aluminum heads will require special offset rockers(roller), add $'s to the budget. Good Luck, flyingwedge.

Re: ARP Rod Bolts & Stretch
For head/main studs, perhaps you measure stud protrusion, above the nut, to calculate stretch ? Your results may vary. flyingwedge.

Re: 2 stroke pin problems
if the pin is coming loose the piston is overheating. back in the day were stopped piston overheating by boost porting the cylinder and milling a opening in the piston to feed the boost port allowing the hot fuel trapped under the piston crown to move out into the boost port and allowing cool fresh...

Ok, and a company that would do all of this, perhaps in SoCal ? Thanks, flyingwedge.

Re: MT/ Indy X-ram IR intake for 215/RV8, suggestions ?
So what I really need, is a port mold material, that can be post hardened, after it's removed. IOW's, use the plugs as core patterns, and build required tooling, off of them. Suggestions ? I don't remember which ones exactly, but some of the polyurethanes at http://www.smooth-on.com can be de-molde...

Re: MT/ Indy X-ram IR intake for 215/RV8, suggestions ?
>. It's John Eales. Cost about $2k+, delivered. Runners are smallish RV8 size. One piece manifold, helps tie the heads/block together,(less wiggle under load). 340 port is approx 30% larger. Thanks, flyingwedge.900HP wrote:This is made by some English company..............
