one more video. At no time in the video does the throttle go past 40% or MAP go above 65kPA, yet that is enough to provoke 1st and 2nd gear rolling burnouts ..its got some power.

Re: FrankenFerrari engine
Still fighting head gaskets so no dyno numbers yet but I was pretty happy with this result on getting it to idle https://youtu.be/7Bunm2COwe0 This was one of my biggest tuning fears but it seems to be working fine. Its at like 720-730 rpm in the video, original factory spec for all these engines (30...

Re: FrankenFerrari engine
Did you ever dyno it? Not yet. I expected that to be happening about now but I'm struggling to get the head gaskets to stay sealed. Its on leak test again now so fingers crossed 4 times is a charm. These things are known for head gasket issues and not really thinking I made the issue much worse whe...

Re: FrankenFerrari engine
Sorry...I realized I'd never added any kind of ending here. Hopefully it will be running well enough for the dyno soon so I can get some numbers...although at this point just running seems enough

Re: FrankenFerrari engine
For anyone who wondered, it does actually run now again after the failure. It had a leaking head gasket https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFBhmTccRkE But I think it fixed everything is working right now....... only took 14 years. https://youtu.be/0ZdknPkKRwE Log looks good....1400-5200rpm, 75-115 pis ...

Re: Senate Bill on Racing
isn't this the very definition of politics? No, this is a response to a real threat to the Performance Racing Industry. The OP did not make a political statement. He just made a PSA. I kind of suspect it was only political when you disagreed with it....that's for clarifying where you've decide to t...

Re: So electric may just be a passing fad again
I'm pretty sure if you feel the need to say "I know it to be true" then the post belong in P&R. For sure oil and gas production and distribution are heavily subsidized which distorts there costs. Same for electric generation and distribution. Years ago I did a womb to tomb cost analysi...

That confused me not seeing ...

Re: So electric may just be a passing fad again
https://www.understandingnano.com/fuel-cells.html I'm not sure how much of that is actually new or commercially viable, the latter being what we struggled with the most. for sure platinum/palladium and nano particles where in play at that time. To be reliable the systems got complex, which meant ex...

Re: So electric may just be a passing fad again
I believe Shell Oil Products U.S. says fuel cells will be the ultimate solution, but being in the fuel business they would say that, wouldn't they. I used to work on Fuelcells including automotive applications including GM and Honda. That was 2000-2002, they were all the rage until you tried to bui...

Re: EFI conversion - return line backpressure
Do you have a capacitor between the SS relay and the pump? Would it make any difference in reliability or how the pump runs? Ken I don't have a cap in there....never really thought about it but it does seems to make some sense. Normally when there is fuel pressure is very stable. I have the filteri...

Re: Welding cylinder head
I always worry about heat in an exhaust port.....so I thing anything you add needs to be attached to coolant flow which means a plate on the bottom to the port ids probably not a great idea. Plates in intake ports are fine, but I wouldn't do it in an exhaust port. There are some pretty small TIG tor...

Re: EFI conversion - return line backpressure
Return lines are at little to no pressure so its pretty common to use plain only rubber fuel hose which is pretty cheap. Edit: forgot the most important part.....since you are running a steel line that can handle pressure you really don't have a any problem as along the the return pressure is under ...
