Re: camshaft intake valve closing
If I was trying yo determine the most important valve timing event, I would be trying to find somebody who has tested thousands & thousands of cams.....& did so without any pre-conceived ideas about the results. I only know of one such person who has done this. And he found that IVC was NOT...

https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=emb_title&v=uWqg2YGCXWg Check this out. Did anyone here know about this? Took the guy 8 minutes into a 12 minute video to show one picture for about 10 seconds... thought my head -- the one attached to my neck -- was gonna implode waiting for him to get to th...

Re: power valve circuit myths
it will run pig rich with a blown pv at idle it won't run pig, cow or chicken rich with a blown power valve. It certainly will run super rich with a blown power valve because fuel goes right past the diaphragm in it, directly through the vacuum supply hole for it. i stand corrected......i should ha...

Re: NA Engine With No Damper?

Re: Carb selection question
You got a picture of these OEM carburetor intake manifolds that are made of plastic? Got and pictures of you laying on the hood fingering your tunnel ram as the car drives down the street? I'd pay to see that ha ha. I see from your comments with your apparent limited , real world experience, a keyb...

Re: Carb selection question
You have tune the idle circuit richer and the primary jet richer when running a cold manifold... Fuel vapourization requires HEAT INPUT.. You get BETTER vapourization around town with a little added plenum heat. Thats why every OEM uses intake plenum heat. The exhaust is cleaner. The plugs last lon...

Re: Carb selection question
You can use spacers to drop the K-member down to gain clearance for a better intake. The intake isn’t changing. I’m trying to pick a carb I think the intake you have is about as good a choice as any. I'd avoid the 830 carb. I understand your idea of the annular boosters to compensate for the poor t...

Re: Carb selection question
Its a old Coronet not a vette. It will take a high rise intake with correct aircleaner. The Edelbrock Perf RPM 440 intake is the best single 4 bbl intake for your car . Especially with a generous carb. Time to move out of the '70's. All the low rise single planes are bad for your car setup.. I have...

Re: Points ignition? Any advantages?
Good grief. In mid-1971 a few select Chrysler high performance engines got the electronic ignitions. By 1972 all Chrysler performance engines got the electronic ignition. By 1973 ALL Chrysler engines we're electronic. since I didn't personally see all of the 1972 performance models that came out I ...
