Re: BBC Heads
Thanks, I was planning on having whatever I get checked out. I have a set of 781s but to have them redone and putting bigger valves in is the price of a set of off shore heads plus the wt difference.

BBC Heads
I've researched but everything is older threads and the way things kind of hate to trust whatever brand Liberty uses for valve train. change I thought I'd ask here. I'm building a 454 bbc, this is a budget build, I don't have the funds or the health I used to have. My machinist use Liberty on their ...

Re: 781 BBC Heads
I hope so, I didn't know how much chamber volume the vLve unshrouding would ad.

Re: 781 BBC Heads
I don't want to get into the intake seats, I was worried about that. I'm going to do 2.19 1.88 valves if I run these heads and that'll mean unshrouding the valve and that will mean a little bigger chamber.

781 BBC Heads
How much could you mill from these heads before you got into intake sealing problems? I was hoping to get them down to 115 cc, now they are 122 and I'd like to get around a 10.5 to 1 pump gas comp ratio. I know there is variables and I haven't measured how far the piston is down in the bore yet.

Cam Question
Acquired a Bullet BBC solid roller cam in really nice shape, 725 lift, int 275 and exh 287 at .050, says to install on a 106.5. Grind # is CHB 306/321 10R. I wonder how it'd work on a 454 or a 496 street and strip? Going to take a really good spring and PVC may be a problem depending on the pistons....

BBC Solid Roller Lifters
What's a good solid roller lifter for street and strip that don't cost a $1000 a set? It's been a few yrs since I've done this, I've ran Morels with good luck but I've been told not to now. I was looking at Crower Severe Duty for around $700. I see a lot of people running Comp Endurax, however they ...

Valves and Springs
Anyone use Competition Products valves and spring kits? I'm not talking their budget stuff and this will be on a bbc and a .700 lift solid roller, 781 heads. Since this will have street miles also I was wondering if they would stand up to the abuse.

If you bought a cam and it's working good for you that's all that counts.

Re: Eagle or Scat?
What about Ohio Crankshaft rotating assy? Just curious, I've never seen anyone around here use them. Their prices aren't to bad.

Re: Eagle or Scat?
Skip White in his long description of his products says to always check and resize any brand of rod. He has an option in there to do it for you. He has options to polish the crank and also a RACE balance. Ok the assy is supposed to be balanced, even tells what machine they do it on, so what the crap...

Re: BBC roller cams
That is a good deal, I've seen a lot of good reviews on his cams, my first roller was a Chet Herbert. It and a new 1050 Holly picked my old Camaro up quite a bit.
