Re: Need to run EDM solid lifters?

I use a mag bed plate grinder and a V block to make the chevy V6 style flats but it gives a lawn sprinkler effect- all around where it's needed better is grooving the lifter bore for hyd and edm for solids and no tiny tiny edm either some use two holes, some offset slightly jury is still out on that...

Re: Need to run EDM solid lifters?

you could groove the lifter bores from the oil passage to the bottom but would still have to have oil to the lifters you do the side of the lifter bore on the leading edge- opening side 7200 rpm and no time to do the lifter bores? just use the AMC edm lifters and check your clerance hv pump hard sha...

Re: ? for the cam gurus, overlap differences based on flow

I would not want the Boss ford syndrome Which TFS Mike? the head with the greater low end flow (got .050?) would take less lift (intake opening= duration) to supply piston demand so i'm thinking the high port head would require a smaller cam- be more driveable would that head support more velocity? ...

Re: low buck 454

the intake/ exhaust ratio is really bad with that cam spec
way too much exhaust
you will loose expansion ratio
hot exhaust
and gas efficiency will suck
any quench?
post up revised compression

Re: Experience w/ Rebco Machine piston mods?

big
thats controversial
I always thought yes and seems so with early sbc and bbmopar 915 head with tight quench (maybe plug location)
however on a turbo build with d cup we found quench area was too large and blowing out the fire
think quench vs squish
many modern heads have two or more quench pads

Re: Cam LSA Test

On the 1.75 rockers I was working with ported 915 heads .030 quench, Magnum intake and exhaust, 9:1 They do work on a short camshaft motor Intake only with a dual pattern cam similar to what the Enginmaster motors are- long flat torque curve I can see why they would not help when the cam is maxed ou...

Re: camshaft specs

I for one hope he gets back 2 U I know how much time Racer Brown spent on the Datsun and others have spent on the little carefree car's valvetrain you do not want the base circle to be less than half the lift increase in other words if you just reduce the base circle the rocker is tilted mostly down...

Re: Cam LSA Test

I have a set of 1.75 vintage Sig Erson BBM iron rockers rebushed by Rocker Arm Re-builders (when they were in Carson CA they are now in Northern CA) also have the matching fit hard chrome shafts if you want to try them
