What goes into your 60 foot "rough guess/simulation" ? Are you expecting any wheel spin?

Although he did see negative air early on in the day, theres still the fact the baro was under 29.2, just remember 0 DA in a 29.2 baro IS NOT the same as a 0 DA in a 30.30 baro. It was mineshaft air most of the day. Here is the the processed weather data from airdensityonline for US 131 November 5,...

Re: Timing/advance curve question

I think first I’m going to try the shorty headers and off road H-pipe, and see if the CFI will tolerate it. Travis, How are you going to use the cougar? Daily driver? Weekend cruiser? Test bed ? The 260 cam Jeff mentioned provided many smiles for me... I used it in a low compression 302, home porte...

Re: Timing/advance curve question

While I’m saving my peso’s for a bulletproof trans and rear end for my new project, I’m thinking about throwing some of mine and my buddies leftover parts onto my ‘84 Cougar…because that thing is gutless as hell. Perfect running 302/CFI/AOD car with 2.73 gears and 140-ish stampeding shetlands…the e...

Re: Head CFM and horsepower

Does the Dragy software allow yiu to test for acceleration from Speed A to Speed B (time to speed) other than standing start 0 mph to speed? EG:. time from 25 mph to 80 mph.. Or test for accelleration between Distance A to Distance B (time to distance) other than from 0. standing start. EG: time or...

Re: Head CFM and horsepower

I went ahead and ordered the dragy. Got it in on Saturday. Finally had a little time on my lunch to get out on a safe road to do a couple little test pulls on. My launch is terrible. I mean, terrible lol. 60' foot in 2.5-3 seconds. As you can see, some launches were better than others while some 1/...

Re: Head CFM and horsepower

"It feels stronger". Get some kind of viable tool to allow you to measure real, on road +/- truck acceleration performance changes thru real tuning. Its a big eye opener and you will get real gaines if you work at it.. Eg: I use a Vericom and back up with a radar gun. (and also track perf). Just on...

Re: Engine dyno sweep RPM

Thank you Larry. My next question would be is what about low gear rpm/second? Is that a factor? I would think any decent 400-425 horse engine would accelerate at closer to 600 rpm/second in low gear. Does what an engine does in low gear matter regarding dyno testing. Thanks in advance. 425 HP in 33...

Re: AC TECH QUESTION?

If you try the epoxy, you might open one of the schrader valves so pressure does not build up in the system while the JB Weld cures. If it is just a pin hole, I think JB Weld will work. Good luck with it.

Danoh1 I have the restrictors in this block .060 to the lifters and a set of light weight 60 gram solid lifters and do not have the external line installed I think this set up must be having a timing issue over another set I run that I had not a lot of problems with beating up a bearing.I’m going b...

You might look at the Pertronix D7200 HEI module with adjustable rev limiter. I have used it and like it.

Re: chain auto parts stores vs internet sellers

My current gripe is the internet sellers, including Rock Auto, Yeah, Rock Auto...I ordered a 83 Ranger master cylinder for use on my hot rod from Rock Auto. They offered both iron & aluminum versions. Local parts houses only had iron versions available. Rock Auto sent an iron version, so, I set abo...
