Re: Cams-Design-Dynamics-and-Accuracy-Harold-A-Rothbart-1956
" .. I imagine that as lobe design becomes more refined the benefits become progressively smaller. And how much of an improvement could one expect from using a state of the art lobe of today as compared to an average off-the-shelf design from say 20 years ago, assuming similar timing and lift?...

Re: EFI experts, True VE tuning
how do you accurately predict / calc VE at any setting of RPM / throttle position
You can have two situations of same VE but one can have way more density

Re: valve size ford 2.3 sohc
I understand they are very similar engines in design, although I don't think anything will swap from one to the other the 2.3 was an american design.. called a pinto ... the 1.6 & 2.0 were a euro design the port on the 2.0 are too big from std. but chamber work makes a big difference http://www....

Re: Watts Link - Good, or bad idea?
Anything works on a Lada! For lateral "support" With a Panhard rod for simplicity. There might be a kit available, more or less made to fit Your veichle. Make it run parallell to the axle. However, if you're not familiar With fabricating Your own stuff, go With the A (or X) as mentioned a...

Re: lsa
That seems like a lot of cam for a plonker What about 35-75 / 70-40 from end to end @ 0.006" lash hot that'll give you 290* duration, - 75* overlap .. icl of 110* ecl of 105*, and an LSA of 107.5* Lift at the IN valve 0.574 and at the EX valve 0.476" and I bet there's something a miss with...

Re: valve size ford 2.3 sohc
I've used the 1.89 intake valve but you definitely need to unshroud them. When I first cut the seats for the 1.89 they actually lost flow compared to the stock 1.74. Not until I unshrouded and laid back the chamber wall did it pick up. The euro's new all about these problems with production bath tu...

If someone with good memory and computer skills , are willing to look back for a quite in depth discussion on the old 30-30 cam... wasn't that long ago If you think that more than half a century since its design is not "that long ago", :-P Ah yes :!:, I left myself open for that one =D>

Re: Arias Hemi Ford and LS Head
The first thing I notice :: is what appears to be a large difference in valve head ratios The valve stem angles appear to be narrower at 35 * +/- the s/plug is close to the ex valve the intake port is high the port flow is maxed out at 25% L/D +/- @ 30 * overall, it would appear the chamber burns we...

Re: Cam LSA for Weber IR setup
who would stick webers on a dog :?: ... if you do, you deserve every flea invested camel known to man why run an IR system :?: ... because you can pulse tune the runner for better performance, usually over a narrower rev range you can run webers on any cam timing you like, but the larger the C/L the...

Re: Cam for 470 inch pump gas motor
You're going to need to make peak power at 6,800rpm Here's what you'd need for a cam. Cam# R78453-79431-108 264/266 @ .050" .453"/.431" Lobe Lift 108 LSA I had the cousin to this cam, I would say identical, I would have given it to you, but it slipped out of my fingers as I removed i...

Re: Degreeing DOHC cams, no timing marks.
nissan... sr 16 > 20 you'll find that most engines pretty much have equal o/l on IN / EX so set the crank mid stroke ( 4 cyl ) then move the intake so lobe is trying to just open and exhaust lobe is just leaving on #1 cyl reset crank to TDC #1 you might have to jiggle the sprocket to fit the belt , ...
