Re: Big block road race build 572
In the 70's John Greenwood ran his widebody Corvette's with injected big blocks and they were bloody fast but often ended up destroying rear ends, half shafts, and tranny's. He tried tires as wide as 20" to try to hook all that power and torque and did win a few, set records and wowed the crowd...

Anyone used the Blueprint Engines SBC Aluminum heads
Wondering if anyone has used the Blueprint Engines SBC Chevy Aluminum heads on a street performance build (400 HP or so) and how they fared for performance and quality ?

Re: Original 327 going back in my 64 Corvette with mods
After talking with a TF tech who stated that they certainly can be improved. My goal is 400 HP, I think it might take that step to hit it at about 10.5 compression and not too wild of a cam.

Re: Original 327 going back in my 64 Corvette with mods
What version 1rst or 2nd in the trick flow twisted heads ? That is a good question...they were purchased new in 2001. These are not the only differences, but this is the easiest way to identify which generation you have. Gen 1 Twisted Wedge heads have 13 degree intakes, 23 degree exhaust, and RAISE...

Re: Original 327 going back in my 64 Corvette with mods
What version 1rst or 2nd in the trick flow twisted heads ? Ya the new trick flow camel hump heads would be great for what your doing. They will flow more air then that 327 is going to use no porting needed. I suspect also trick flow has come a long way in making aluminum heads just like all the ame...

Re: Original 327 going back in my 64 Corvette with mods
I posted last year about putting my original 327 back in my very nice 1964 Roadster. Might not be the safest or smartest thing to do but I want it back in the car. I loved the way it revved back in the day versus the big block grunt of the 383 stroker and I just want it to have the original in it. ...

Re: Original 327 going back in my 64 Corvette with mods
For a small displacement performance engine I always thought about using one of these...https://www.summitracing.com/parts/crn-10017/make/chevrolet... It should produce a nice sounding idle, have nice midrange, but not be so big as to kill the bottom end torque. A 1.6 rocker on the intake would get...

Re: Mild performance build of my original 327 for my 1964 Corvette
Just my opinion but my expectation is while cubic inches are lower for a shorter stroke the hp/ci goes up. Maybe not in proportion but a shorter stroke on the same bore can allow a flatter piston with a smaller head chamber for greater efficiency. The SCCA Trans-Am series in the 90's used 310"...

Re: Mild performance build of my original 327 for my 1964 Corvette
[quote=vortecpro post_id=815970 time=1562505674 One Sunday we were looking for some nice small journal 327s on Craigslist, to build a 302 for my son, he really likes Z/28s. We ended up with some very nice virgin cores, I couldn't see letting these extra 327 cores go to waste, infact I wasn't going ...
