Re: Building A Nostalgic 1970s Fuelie Headed 350 SBC

I love how guys think fuelies done right can't make great power. A well done set can be 260 / 200 cfm. A number the untouched rpm will not keep up with. Love this project! Thanks, Charlie There's a BIG difference between the 'typical' flat top 350 with double jump heads and a flat tappet 0.515" lif...

Re: Any downsides to anti reversion mufflers/devices?

For those guys who just HAVE TO buy a cam to get that "classic" lumpy idle, small and fast-enough headers and AR mufflers seem like a good idea, so I have to ask: Do these AR devices reduce the lumpy idle sound? (That could be a "downside" for some people.) (Is the sound primary driven by OVERLAP o...

I picked up a perfect set of 041 's for $15 at a swap meet once. Ah, the good old days.

Re: Any downsides to anti reversion mufflers/devices?

MIke, I have had similar results with a.r. . I couldn't find any down side. Thanks, Charlie Have you used them with a straight collector vs a merge collector? And where in the system did you place them? Full street exhaust, or just headers with extensions I extended tge 3" collector and welded cust...

Re: 180cfm or below SBC heads

I think you mean 180cc’s... For what you are doing with it, I’d save the money and use the freshened up 882’s as long as they pass a mag inspection. I’ve built dozens of this exact same combo for pickups and they do just fine, and will run on the cheapest fuel as well. 2nd choice would be the 165cc...

I had to look for a single cut texture. This is from a 1/2" diameter burr. Larger burr will give a rougher texture smaller diameter finer. This is in no way a finessed port this is a quick cut and flow port fyi. Thanks, Charlie

This texture is a high helix single cut burr. Having trouble finding a rough single cut texture. Thanks, Charlie

Re: TBI on a Single Plane- Street 4x4

Resized_20190920_192008_1903.jpeg This mess is what I run on my old work truck. 355 with a very short .533 roller cam. Fed with a Holley projection 900cfm through a custom tapered spacer that keeps the plenum divided. I designed and built this about 1992. My grinding has improved but this mill has ...

Re: TBI on a Single Plane- Street 4x4

That combo in a truck with burred victor jr. will work. Been running tbi since '88. Use a big single cut burr and try a tapered four hole to an open spacer. Tip in will be very good if tune is right. Thanks, Charlie Slightly off topic, but I'm intrigued by the concept of "burring". Is there a techn...
