Re: Wtd ls1engine infr

Whatever one the junkyard has the cheapest.

Actually, just buying an LS from a junkyard will add 200hp over a still-installed piece.... Or so they say.

(Sorry if the cross-cultural humor doesn't relate)

Re: can i use a standard carby as a blow through on low boos

The cfm through a carb doesn't change that much with boost, in fact it may go down significantly at high boost. Your lb/min is what goes up. There is a huge difference. This is BS. If more air does not get IN the motor will not make more power. The "high boost" created by trying to force ...

Re: EDELBROCK 2968 OR 2926

2968 on the last 365" raised runner steelhead I did.

With the RR engine, it seems to pick up more torque but knocked 20hp off the top. Engine made ~550lb.ft

Although, it was built with one track in mind, Tazewell. I'd change some things if it ever ran slick, flat type tracks.

Re: King Bearings?

I've had many problems with them, specifically the aluminum bearings. The materials seem to be ok but the problems are inconsistent thickness, too much crush, or in two cases I have to file the dents off the back sides of the shells to get them to sit solid in the registers. I do not know how they ...

You are certainly correct here ... I am unable to comprehend any kind of ASSUMPTIONS regarding anything as I only can deal with actual happenings and facts. AND ... that type scenario I mentioned HAS actually happened ... many times. Then it should be impossible for you to give advice on the intern...

For our Pro Stocks, it's covering the most ground in the least amount of time. Bingo ! You have won the lottery. Drag racing is about covering the most ground in the least amount of time. Changing speeds in the least amount of time is not quite the same thing. THAT statement is totally wrong....

Re: Ceramic rollers

Thanks for the info, but does anybody know what the material compositions are for the three applications I asked about? The old firebrick company I used to work for, APGreen Refractories, Mexico, MO, made what they named "ArcHard-D" that was something like 99.7(?) percent pure, 325 mesh a...

Re: A neat post from Larry Widmer

Maximizing average HP from one engine speed to another engine speed is not the optimal way to do it. Minimizing the time to accelerate from one engine speed to another engine speed on an inertia dyno is not the optimal way to do it either. In what case would a decreased ET between the shift points ...

Re: Combustion chamber modifying

KnightEngines, you do beautiful work.

OP, while your chambers are similar, that sharp edge is an awful idea, and there is several other shape differences.

But again, JMO. Now, go bolt them on and come back with some results either way. At the end of the day, we're all just guessing.
