Re: Stuska 800 hp engine dyno

The dyno did not sell. I put it up with a starting bid of $5k thinking it would probably go up a bit from there. It got a lot of views and some watchers but no bites. I haven't been able to find any single rotor versions to compare but there are three dual rotors ranging from $10.5k to $20k so I fig...

Stuska 800 hp engine dyno

I got a deal on this old Stuska engine dyno I couldn't pass up but I have decided to keep my Land and Sea and sell the Stuska. I wasn't at all sure what it was worth so I threw it up on Ebay.
If anyone has any questions or anything let me know.

It's obvious I'm talking to the wrong crowd.

Thanks for the info Runit .

Re: supercharged air flow maths - who can help?

Boost pressure is NOT created by the supercharger. It is caused by the back pressure created by whatever exists after the supercharger. More engine restriction to flow produces a higher boost pressure. Fit a very restrictive exhaust system, booost pressure increases, even if you make no other chang...

Re: Piston to valve clearance calculator for DOHC motors?

I have my own way of doing things, and understand the limits of the way I do stuff. However, some of the things I do, I would not recommend for others, as I do not want them to make mistakes and blame me for the outcome. Yes, I know you need to check VP clearance before and after TDC. I have never ...

Re: Piston to valve clearance calculator for DOHC motors?

I am talking about designing an interference piston with minimal valve relief based off of cam profile and valve travel. Sounds pretty dangerous. What about head gasket crush, thermal expansion, rod stretch ? Oversized valves, block and cylinder head height variations and more.... There are going t...

Re: supercharged air flow maths - who can help?

I made a basic calculator a while back. Don't know what I did with it though. You can get pretty close by breaking it down into a static equation. For now I will be ignoring volumetric efficiency of the motor and SC but will address that later. Redline is 6800 where you will want the supercharger to...

Re: Piston to valve clearance calculator for DOHC motors?

Many of the cam catalogs list cam lift at TDC. You can multiply that number times your rocker ratio and get valve lift at TDC. With a cylinder at TDC firing, remove the valve springs on that cylinder and measure the valve travel from seat to piston. Subtract your valve lift from that number. That i...

Re: Piston to valve clearance calculator for DOHC motors?

It looks like engine analyzer pro will but that's out of my budget for the time being.
I have heard good things about pipemax for other things but It doesn't look like it calculates valve to piston. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Piston to valve clearance calculator for DOHC motors?

I am starting to do more piston design and I would like an easy way to calculate minimum safe valve relief depth for a given cam.
Does anyone know of a program, or calculator designed for this purpose?
