Re: Race Engine Challenge intake critique
Any input to improve those numbers is appreciated. I'd suggest you dv and the rest of the team attend a Eric Roycroft seminar. Randy And how much of what he did to that LS3 is going to apply to whatever it is you think will be fixed by doing that? If it's not LS architecture that you think they nee...

Looks like impact/compression fracture. Rod is probably bent as well.

Re: Valve lash, how much is to much?
I am looking to gain as much low end TQ on a 580 BBC with 12 degree spreadport heads to help with the 60' times. Running a Comp Cam custom solid roller that calls for I-.024" & E-.026" lash. Rockers are: Int 1.8 and Ex 1.7 ratio. How loose can I "safely" run this setup to fi...

Re: Winner Of The Race Engine Challenge
No sense in complicating things. If it's over, your DQd, end of story. It's not a judgment call, it's simple measurements and math. This is basic engine blueprinting! If the limit is 12.1, 12.04 is the tolerance. This gives a little room for componant temp and carbon and the human factor. Even in o...

I agree. Rules are rules.Warp Speed wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 7:20 pm Being this is a "Race Engine" challenge, there shouldn't be any tolerance in the rules. It's either right or it isn't. It is all simple measuring and math when it comes to ci, cr, lift ect. Set a temp standard of the block and go. It is what it is....

Re: Winner Of The Race Engine Challenge
sorry but I think all these competitions are exclusivly for the wealthy well equipped outfits, and bragging rights. For us ones at the bottom of the food chain we would never have a chance, and not because lack of ability but lack of $. Sorry again. That's completely wrong. I was there for 3 days o...

Re: EMC 2016
I would like to see them go back to a Friday run-off. Puts more excitement into the deal. I would also like to see more media coverage, as does everyone else. Maybe like live streaming or something along those lines. Hell, an updated website would be a great start. This event could be popular... but...

Why did they change the software and not leave it like it was?? That's a little bit of an unfair disadvantage for the guys that don't get to run twice....

Unfortunately I had to pull from the competition this year. Work is way too busy, and this new little one is running around yelling DA DA..... it's hard for me to make this a priority this year. Looking forward to next year.

BBC 565 rotating assembly
I have the 565 rotating assembly out of my 2015 engine masters engine. Approximately 100 dyno pulls on the rotating assembly. Nothing wrong with the stuff, just upgrading components. Rods are piston guided and comes with total seal gapless rings. I wouldn't hesitate to reuse the rings and rod bearin...
