Re: SBF Dirt Track build questions

I recently got the green light from the wife to step up from production based dirt racing to a class similar to a DLM chassis with a 361 cube limit for two valve iron production based motors. 361 cu.in 1088kg's 2398.62lbs min weight 347 cu.in 1070kg's 2358.94lbs min weight Is it worth the effort to...

Re: Big Block Mopar Question

Thanks to all for their comments.

I haven't done a BBM in 50+ years but do have two small block projects in my shop.

Big Block Mopar Question

I have a pair of early 413 heads that I will be sending in soon for valve work. I'm keeping the 2.08/1.6 valves as this is a low buck build. I would like to run 11-1 compression. I will zero deck the block and I have flat top replacement slugs. I did a quick cc of one chamber and saw 68 sisi's (that...

Re: Radiators...what's the difference?

When Peterbilt designed the 370 series tractors in the 80's they wanted to produce a radiator that would cool high horsepower engine in desert heat for 1,000,000 miles. They chose a four row copper brass radiator. My to lasted over 1.5 million miles and never overheatedy engines.

Re: Source for small qty. of metal stitch pins...

I have a 413 Mopar block that has a freeze crack between two core plugs...seems to be a popular place for a crack. I'd like to buy some IronTite threaded plugs but I don't need a box of 100...where can I buy a smaller qty. (25?). Perhaps someone can sell me some spares? Looking closely the only lea...

Re: Source for small qty. of metal stitch pins...

I would think a .200 x 7/8 or so would work. It's a longer crack but very thin. I never saw it until it came back from cleaning and mag. I may hard block itto the top of the core plugs then repair it. It been since the 60's since I did this on a 324 Olds. My guess is I need 25 pins. I have brazed cr...

Re: Mopar Comp 268H question...

Kinda figured that... This engine deal is going together for a daily driver using '59 heads on a '64 block cause that's what is in stock right now. Nothing fancy...no high dollar parts... got a new set of cast pistons with the parts pile..using the OEM 535 cfm AFB carb. Might regrind the stock cam n...

Mopar Comp 268H question...

Does anyone know if a Comp 268H cam core for a BBM is ground for a .903 lifter or is it a Chevy grind?

I'm putting a low buck 413 together from a pile of parts and that pile came with a new Comp 268H....
