Re: Cammed engine, stock engine, high stall ?

All depends on your needs/wants and the powerband of the engine in question. I see Novadude mentioned a pushrod Mustang, but the one that sticks out in my mind for anyone that was actually fast on the street are the early LS1 cars. Putting a converter in a 4th gen FBody made (makes) a massive differ...

Re: NA DOHC Camshaft recommendation

That doesn't answer any of my questions. I have no idea what a Barra is. Hey Mike, the Barra is the "LS" of Australia, but it's an inline 6cyl. Huge potential, found in 500k mile NA taxis up to boosted high HP 'special edition' applications. There are millions of them down there in all le...

This guy Calvin does a lot with the 4200, here is his YouTube channel. No apparent contact info, but maybe leaving a comment or two would grab his attention.

Re: Exhaust question Wth is this?

Making the competition waste time, money, effort, and enthusiasm trying to reverse-engineer the thing, when they'd be better-off dealing with their own combination rather than monkey-see-monkey-do with your stuff. I'm not in competition with anyone, nor challenged anyone on this forum. I asked a qu...

Brent "blykins" is on here, maybe he will chime in. I appreciate his videos, especially this odd ball.

Re: Anyone familiar with mid 90s ford computers

It can be done, and there is still a small community out there doing this. Start here >> https://eectuning.org/resources/get-started/intro-to-diy-tuning MegaSquirt has a plug and play option, but it may not be for the F150 computer; you would need to check the code. It may be possible with a re-pin,...

Re: Solid cam..

To help this conversation along, as others are getting at, it's best to better define streetable. Do you need vacuum brakes? How often are you willing to change valve springs? How often are you willing to check lash? How much (thick) pushrod can you run? How much RPM will you spin it with any regula...

Here is a "way out there" theory - what if those pistons were in holes where the crew chief knew they may get pumped? It's been known to happen...

Re: Reputable links for horsepower from windage tray/crank scraper

Almost the exact same thing as you posted above, except 1 or 2 more holes in that one. Still not a scraper in sight. Even this aftermarket(I think) tray from Modern Muscle Extreme doesn't have one and it's supposed to be an upgrade from stock, right? https://www.modernmusclextreme.com/images/PRODUC...

Re: RB 26/30 turbo chambers.

An interesting point would be is it the 35psi that hates the squish pads in the head or the 10,000rpm? Exactly! Hence the "it depends" Is it the fuel, IAT's, 4v, valve angle, RPM, etc...??? Certainly a well sorted combo. I look at some of the elite turbo drag cars on methanol, no intercoo...

Standard answer - it depends...

Here is a pretty solid video from a well respected time attack team running an RB. No reason for me to doubt what he is saying (no RB hands on experience)

Re: Trouble with my 1999 C2500 Suburban again...P0174 code

Looks like a vacuum leak to me. It may be a single port, but may be a series of very small ones. Since you the G1/2 based SBC with that spider injector intake, it's can be a pain to diagnose. (we used to have a '99 Burban) Other things I see is that your vacuum is low as is the MAF grams. The STFT i...
