Re: restrictor plate
So i'm researching how to make the plates run better and run across this. I know i'm digging it up from the grave. Why not add some drag via a wing/spoiler or something else to slow the top end speeds?

Re: SALT in the intercooler ice water tank?
First one left me still as confused as i originally was. Second one they seemed to agree cooling the fuel was not worth much of anything and that you must cool the air. i've been searching online without much luck. How much do you have the lower the temperature of methanol to see any difference in p...

i've been searching online without much luck. How much do you have the lower the temperature of methanol to see any difference in power? Ambient around here this time of year is 80-100 degrees.

Re: Propylene Oxide Combustion
Bringing up an old one... Reading on kart forums and talks of P/O and vaseline or some other thick petroleum substance came up. Then the Michael waltrip incident was brought up. Anyone care to comment how long a P/O and vaseline mix would stay useful in 70degree weather? Before or after the air clea...

Re: Dart SHP block questions
I believe the only draw back of your deal is if you want to bore it to 4.125. The 4in vs the 4.125 blocks, the wall thickness is different so you cant just punch it out to the 4.125 and be where you would if you ordered the 4.125 block. I'm sure the others will correct me if I've misspoken on that....

Re: Morel lifter failures
I tried to read the thread but after 5 pages of arguing about the power gains of polished vs non polished I will stick to red scotch bright! There is also a lot of a "get him" agenda from certain members in that forum. Dog piling is typical. The way he presents stuff he brings it on himse...

Re: Square groove valvelocks on beadlock groove valvestems
Like trying to put a square peg in a round hole. Not happening. Order beadlock keepers if that's what you need. Ebay has a good variety of cheap stuff to get an idea of what you need then you can order a whole set of something new in +.050 -.050 or standard. You have to make sure its 10 degree locks...

Re: Where to install cam
If it's limited circle track heavy car it may need a lot of advance (depending). You could try a cranking compression test where you've got it installed now and retard it a couple degrees at a time while rechecking compression. A lot of work but will give you more understanding. How is it performing...

Re: Where to install cam
Me, I always speak with the actual cam grinder - tell them my application, etc.. Did it come with a timing card? It should tell you where to install it at. Typically the timing information at .050 is there for a reason - which is where I usually start. If the tag says the cam (the profile) should b...

Where to install cam
Ive asked about heads and other questions along the way on this build. Its a 383, 441 heads with 2.02/1.6 that have been bowl hogged and slightly cleaned up in the ports, stock rocker arms per rules, icon 4 valve relief pistons coming in at 9-1, 6in rods, 2701 intake with a gas 2barrel going on top....
