Re: Local GM service center
They are trying to sell a carbon cleaning service. In moderation a carbon cleaning service is one of the best things you can do for your engine especially if it is direct injected gas engine. A normal gas engine I would do every 75,000 miles, a direct injected engine I would do every 50,000 miles. ...

Re: Nox gas analyzer for tuning
At the college we had a 4 gas analyzer so it did NOX, I used it a couple times on our chassis dyno, and engine dyno just to see how it compared to using wideband O2 sensors, for tuning. And we were using the analyzer while running an IM240 test for emission compliance testing as well. At that time,...

Re: Vortec newbie dirt
Spent a long time chatting with a previous owner last night who campaigned the car successfully for years ( he reckons the last couple of owners have just revved it up in there garage listening to it and he's stoked I intend to get as much track time as possible in it). Learned a lot about the setu...

Re: Vortec head self aligning rocker arm issues
I would think about upgrading to the newer Vortec rockers that look like the LS1 rockers. Don't know where to get them. They were on my engine stock so I didn't have to upgrade anything.

I assume you uploaded that to youtube? If so, can you upload it as a standard video? I can't watch shorts when casting youtube to my TV. Nor do I watch them to begin with because I can't stand endlessly scrolling.
Anyway. Could you upload it as a standard vid if you uploaded that one? Thanks.

Re: High Performance Cams and Valve Trains Book Billy Godbold
I got it direct from the publisher immediately, so have read it twice now. It’s good. It’s not going to tell you how to pick out a camshaft or is it going to to tell you how to design a lobe, but Billy does a great job of explaining how the engine sees the valve lift curve in an engine, and really ...

Loosen the screws, otherwise grind the slots. It doesn't matter if it re-learns zero on the scanner. .5-.6v is a friggin thing on the old computers and nowadays the aftermarket parts are horrible. You've changed a lot of parts to "new". It doesn't mean they spec to old. That distributor i...

Re: Different Fel-Pro head gaskets?
Seems to me that one is completely coated while the other is strategically coated in just the sealing surfaces. If it's the same coating, only minimized to only thre needed surfaces then I wouldn't think there's anything to worry about. Email Fel-pro and ask them. They'll know better than anyone els...

At almost 1900 dollars per set I'm not sure how much of a game changer they will be The retail price is 119.95$ on Comp Cams website. Not 1900$ that might be for a tool steel DLC coated lifters. https://www.compcams.com/high-energy-dlc-hydraulic-flat-lifters-for-chevrolet-small-and-big-block.html I...

Looks like they've been selling these since at least 2021? I see you mentioned something about their LST lobes in this thread too.
