Re: critique my 355 engine build

Not a good combo of parts. Were me at 7000 rpm id buy a solid street roller grind instead of the hydraulic roller and use profilers 195 head on that 355.

Re: Improving power 5.9 cummins diesel

This rv my cousin bought looks to be close as new as far how well the inside out side were kept up. He lives in so-cal but has registered it in montana. He has complained to me that besides low power to pull grades it is overheating something that has to be fixed for sure, on flat ground no heating ...

Improving power 5.9 cummins diesel

My cousin has bought a 2001 36 ft rv with what should be a 5.9 ISB, 24 valve. In a pickup i think that engine is rated at 460 ft lbs at 1700 rpm, 235 hp not exactly much good at pulling grades. What can he do to get say at least another 200 to 250 lbs of ft tq and be reliable. Can the stock turbo do...

Re: Small blowers.

I think for $2400.00 brand new the M23 N is strong enough behind any street car. By the time you try to screw around with old transmissions, be money ahead in the long run to buy one.

Re: Small blowers.

Strong trans should have kept it if it could be adapted. That is like the 454 4 bolt block i had from a 1970 LS6 chevelle that i kept from 1974 till around 7 years ago that i foolish sold. Would have handled any amount of power i would have wanted. But at the time i was more bucks up wanted to buy a...

Re: Small blowers.

Not a blower person. But it would seem like a bigger blower spinning at lower rpms with the bigger rotors would creat less heat in the air intake system.

Re: Small blowers.

Auto gear when it came out years ago with its super case made out of better grade cast aluminum 356 they used a thicker front wall and stronger ears, along with other other improvements to the case, then italy made gears like the M22 used. Fixed the case spreading problem of original muncies. They n...

Re: Small blowers.

Any form of wide spaced gearing in a trans weakens it. Also 3.31 rear makes it harder on the trans rather then say having 4.11 rear. Have not tried it but i doubt a 400 block would put up with 700 hp for any length of time at all. There is a reason aftermarket blocks were made. I had a dead stock 32...

Long while back on the boob tube ( TV ) they did an interview and tour of eagle all the machining done there in USA and is not scat the same company that made parts to race VWs way back in the 1970s. Looks like these company's buy there steel from china because its cheaper. As far as any business sm...
