Re: what happend to UDharold?
Hello, everyone, I am still alive, at least a little. My good friend, PDQ67, told me there was this thread open right now, so I came over to answer it myself. Both my mental health and my physical health are just so-so. Out of Prozac for several months, waiting until I go back to the doctor for othe...

Re: lifter dia gains?
Make sure that the cam design you use is for the .875" lifter.
Using an .842" design and a .875" lifter only gives you superior wear, not improved power.
Most cam companies have .875" cam designs available.

Cam Curves
Nick,
Last week My computer caught Internet Security 2010, and it eventually fried my hard drive.
I had back-ups on Cam Design, but I lost all my E-Mails. Could you send me the last one you sent, again? I had not had time to look at the curve.
Thanks,
Harold

Dacaman and Howard's
Dacaman is travelling up north to help set up the Landis, the Adcole, etc, etc, etc.
I believe they will make him a most attractive offer to stay up there.
He is a new father, so he needs a safe, secure place.
I wish him the best of luck.......

Howard's Cams
I have just gotten off the phone with them, and they bought the whole kit and kaboodle from Custom Camshafts, Inc, of Martinsville, Va.
This includes the Landis 3L, the Adcole, all the cores and spare parts, and over 100 of my cam designs.
I will know more over the next few days.

Over 20 Years Of CamDesign......
Andy, I came up with the concept of the 31 degree cam profile about December 2005, about 20 years after I did those .4589" UD lobes. The .4589" lobes are 36 degree cams, and so is the intake lobe. All the UD cams were steel masters for the Berco, and they would grow 2 degrees at .050 for a...

NO2 Camfor a Nissan
MadBill, Remember, this is a SOHC engine, and whatever cam is used, will be what the cam companies have available, or are willing to design. Unfortunately, I do not have a design program that will properly design a swing-follower cam, either SOHC or DOHC. I had hoped that those durations would be av...

Cam for a 526
SuperGas, I never got your E-Mail, but this is in response to your PM. However, I have a lot of cams suitable, and very easy on the valve train parts. I have a family of cams I call my 31 degree family, they are all very easy on valve train parts, all my 6-, 7-, and 8-sec cars use them, and dso do m...

NO2 Cam for a 4-Cylinder
gcmesa, I have not done much work with NO2 cams for 4-cylinder engines. Most of mine have been N/A, either gas or alcohol. However, a cam optimized for NO2 will not run so good WITHOUT the NO2 on, and I normally run the same cam for low-NO2 shots that also run without NO2. From your specs, and you p...

383 Cam
I have a design at Lunati that I have made for both SBC and BBC, that is a tight-lash solid lifter cam. It is 292/300 at ,020, 263/271 at .050, 175/183 at .200, and .579"/.579" gross lift with 1.5s, .563"/.563" net lift. It is in the same family of solid lifter cams I have been m...

460F316/335R12
This cam is 316/335 at .020, 286/303 at .050, 205/215 at .200, .4544"/.4414" lobe lift, .786"/.764" gross valve lift, and 112 LSA. I would run the valve lash at .026"/.028" HOT, and make sure the ICL is about 105 to 108----It should run just fine there. Is the S26696 on...

Gain---
Compared to what you have now, probably at least 1/4 second.......
Everyone will know you changed cams, they won't even sound alike.
This is my improved version of the old UD 302/310R6, with a lot more high-lift area for more power everywhere..

A Little Pick-Up
I have a cam at Lunati, on their Landis, that will work just fine for your combo. It is 302/306 at .020, 274/278 at 050. 199/202 at .200, and .4544"/.4544" lobe lift, .727"/.727" with your 1.6s. Net valve lift about .710"/.710", LSA would stay 106, and it will run excel...
