I like it that they give that max spring load of the lifter looks like 1400# those lifter would last my type of camshaft forever.

Wow Jed what do you mean by move the thrust cap forward are backward its fixed.This a crank that has just been ground and I remember the crank grinder say he needed to kiss it a little.And it is only about .0005-to .001 from Max allowable.

What are the causes of crankshaft end play over the maximum and is there a way to reduce excessive end play rather than replacing the crankshaft.

I say fill it before you have it bored because it will help stabilize the cylinder walls any way,plus it you bore it after it has been filled it may distort the cylinder walls slightly.There is a sight called 351c.net on Facebook with plenty of cleveland people doing the same thing.

Cool thanks really appreciate it I have just seen som crankshaft I even have v-6 crank with 3 or 4 slugs of heavy metal in them and they have welds around them.

Just got my crankshaft back from balancing and the metal that was installed was not welded to the counterweights looks like just press fit into the hole,should it be welded.

Do you all know,are have you tried to install a expander oil ring set from say a set of piston that are ..060 ever into a piston oil groove that is .040 over both having the same axial and radial sizes, I guess what I want to know does the expander oil sets come in different sizes to certain point.

I always thought you had to be a machinist first and a builder second the guys that started off as machinist first normally end up as good engine builders,because they can machine anything that put in front of them.

Yes ceramic puck at the bottom I guess the laser can bore through ceramic.
