Re: Is E85 being Phazed out in your area?
One reason it has 15% gasoline is you could drink it otherwise; it is just moonshine. The reason for 15% gasoline is so you have a fighting chance of cold starting an engine! Ethanol plant about a mile and a half from me here. I know some years back it became much more difficult for us to buy drums...

Re: Is E85 being Phazed out in your area?
A turbo direct injection motor would make the best use of E85. Already pretty knock resistant without it, you could keep the compression fairly high for efficiency and still operate on gasoline but wind the boost up with E85 when it's time to do some work. How come I haven't heard of this happening...

Re: Is A Regulator/Rectifier Needed For Motos W/out Batteries?
Many different systems out there. My 2 stroke KTM basically is a 3-in-1. 1 coil off the stator runs the CDI, and nothing else. 2 coils run to a reg/rec that converts to DC and has about 30W to charge the battery, which is used only for the electric start system. The remaining coils 5 coils run 70W o...

Re: Need opinions on fuel injector diffusers
Injectors that spray at an angle relative to the injector centerline are available as well. I am not sure the limit to the angle. I know we've had some that were 20 degrees.

Re: How Effective Will This Be As An Oil Cooler?
The Honda XR400 oil cooler is a simple and durable cooler for adding a bit of heat shedding. Popular with dirt bike guys and I've seen it used on some street bikes. Made to go around the head tube, some have used it on the downtube as well.

Re: Vehicle weight
Stuff I've had across the scale, to the best of my memory: 1992 K1500 WT - Regular cab, long box, 4.3L V6, auto, 4x4. No driver, about 4400 lbs. 1992 C2500 - Regular cab, long box, 350, auto, 2wd. No driver, about 5000-5050 lbs. 2001 Jeep TJ - Basically stock, 180 lb driver, 4000 lbs on the nose. 20...

Re: How Oversquare Can An Engine Get And Remain Streetable?
"Nothing but torque" is just being descriptive of the powerband. Sorry you are taking it literally and judging my knowledge based on it. The DR650 is known for being a big, lazy single that makes relatively low hp. In stock form its about 36 whp at a bit over 6000 rpm, and 32 ftlbs at a bi...

Re: How Oversquare Can An Engine Get And Remain Streetable?
Using thumpers as a reference, a DR650 is 100mm bore, 82mm stroke. Or opt for Pro Cycle's 790 kit, takes the bore out to 111mm. The bike makes nothing but torque. 4 valve heads, small valves (33mm IN, 28mm EX), small cam, and small ports.

Re: Air/Fuel meter
How does the Innovate eat sensors? We run them all the time. And I mean ALL the time. Many hundreds of hours on dozens sensors. The only time I've had a sensor really fail is doing stuff they specifically tell you not to do, like -30C cold start tests. Hot heater element doesn't like it when a cold ...

Re: 6.0, 383, 400/406 Build
So your three options are:
Carb'd 6.0 LS
Turbo 355
Supercharged 355
Do you have goals in mind in terms of hp/tq, or track times? Or more fun-to-drive? Towing?
What is you:
Budget?
Transmission?
Convertor (if auto)?
Rear gear?
Tire size?
Willingness to change any of the above?

Re: Question about EFI cold start AFR
I'm trying to picture how a cold engine, with the same airflow and ignition timing as a hot engine, runs 200 rpm faster cold vs hot just by richening things up. Two notes. First, it doesn’t have the same air flow, it has the same size hole flowing more air mass when cold and less air mass when warm...

Re: Question about EFI cold start AFR
I'm trying to picture how a cold engine, with the same airflow and ignition timing as a hot engine, runs 200 rpm faster cold vs hot just by richening things up. Being very over-generalized, we normally add a few hundred rpm idle speed for a cold engine, feed it fuel that puts it in a happy place (of...

So you are holding a constant air flow and tuning speed with fuel only?

Re: 2015 TM MX 125 engine in a 125 cm^3 kart
It's rare even for Japanese bikes to find stuff in stock. Maybe levers or a bearing, but I've always had to order moat things, even when working at a dealer (clutch, powervalve parts, top ends, stator, reg/rec, suspension bits, etc).

Have you checked their downloads, or sent an email asking for info? Best place to start, I'd think.
