Re: Dual spark plugs or squish?

This begs the question what are the intake and exhaust valve angles for this Triumph? Both are 45 degrees from vertical...Dorset's engine makes a few more HP at a higher rpm than mine, but we are crowding 1.7 HP per cubic inch from a 1930's design production motorcycle engine.A well tuned stock eng...

Re: Entry level EFI tuning

Lots of reasons to aftermarket ecm. Your is not one of them.. In my state only cars that are 25 years and older do not have to go through emission testing which requires a functioning check engine light and verification the sensors are working and valid ,of which only a factory ecu can do. A $2500 h...

Re: Entry level EFI tuning

Your first problem is you asked here lol. As you can see by most of the replies not alot of knowledge on oem ecm,s here so far fro the replies.. You have a basic setup That about anyone with a wideband and stretch of road can tune.. Your combo has been done to death for 15-20 years. A 99 l31 is not ...

Try Tim Iskenderian at small engine camshafts. He seems to do all sorts of odd ball requests. 1-4 cylinder stuff.

Re: low buck 454

Pass on the E street cylinder head on this it has a cheaper light duty valve and valve seat. Get the better Performer RPM 290 cc oval head. It is only slightly more money.. Valves and springs are good for the isky 396255 Z55 solid cam. You don't want cheap valve seats on any high perf cylinder head...

Re: OE Std. Volume Oil Pump GPM

Physically calculate the cubic inch displacement of the pumps to determine gpm The only correct answer there is.. From the displacement of the pump fairly simple to determine the flow rate. There are a bunch of hydraulic online calculators that will give you gallon per minute from displ and rpm. Al...

Re: L29 Vortec 454 on a budget

Yes I have a close friend with two of the Jet DST. They are finicky. Lots of horror stories of bricked pcms and Jet is very limited on support. Even when they are free licenses, the DST not worth it to me to mess with it. Hp Tuners I am much more comfortable with. Why not do the plenty tried and tr...

Re: 02 1500 6.0 or stroke 5.3

The 5.3 would be more convenient unless a better deal ona 6.0 popped up Any recomendations on a rotating assy? Suppose I could get 2.00 valves in or ck out the new AFR as cast heads they are cheap maybe clean em up a bit? Or just use any 241, 243 or 799 With 2.00 valves in them already and a better...

Just 35/45/65/75/80 with 1mm seat & 88% throat. Sunk about. 030". Bowl is really just cleaned up, short turn is laid back into the valve job & the peak moved upstream. Port is a little wider above the turn & corner radii reduced. Swirl thingy removed, rocker bolt boss removed &...

Re: Grasping at straws...can a car battery affect performance?

I pulled another good battery out of one of my other trucks...engine cranks good, lights off, then dies. It’s triggered a P1626 code (something about the anti-theft system not communicating with the PCM or something like that). This has happened once in the past...last time I was able to just clear...

Re: Recommend a tunnel ram/carb BBC

I still think his customer sounds like a show and not so much go guy and the Wieand is cheap easy to chrome and a couple of small CFM chrome holleys will get it done for a minimal dollar and run well on a mild 454 street rod. Let's face it ,the Holleys look the best on a tunnel ram and a mild 600 v...
