Re: SBC Rocker Arm Alignment: Question of Importance
Didn't the vortecs run no guide plates and self aligning rocker arms? Even the hot cam kit with 1.6 rollers from GM ran aluminum self aligning rockers.

Re: BBC starter issue, not engaging properly
There are 2 shims that come installed on the powermaster (you can see the larger one in the photo of your earlier post). A larger one where the motor attaches to the mounting block and a smaller round one where the drive bearing contacts the mountinting block on the inside. Removing both will give y...

Re: Fluid COOLER Mounting Orientation
FWIW from B&M ● Mount the B&M SuperCooler with the fittings on top or on the sides. It is not recommended to mount the cooler with the fittings pointing down as this may create an air pocket in the cooler resulting in reduced cooling efficiency. When mounting the cooler with the fittings on ...

Re: Mechanical fuel pump return & fuel heat management.
I have seen the scenario of enough heat at the carb accelerator pumps to burp fuel out of the squirters after parking hot. The pump reservoirs have no place to send the heated fuel but through the nozzles. A quick fix is to drill the accelerator pump housing mount on the bottom of the float bowls (b...

Carl from CNC Blocks N/E did a similar pump gas build and posted the results at chevelle's.com http://www.chevelles.com/forums/13-perf ... sults.html
It made 574 lb ft at 4800 and 606 hp at only 6400.

Ford... they always went bigger is better in the "muscle car days". I worked at a Ford dealership in the 70's and a good friend who also worked there had a '69 Boss 302 as his daily driver. Oh how he used to bitch that he couldn't get his 16' runabout boat out of the water at the launch ra...

Re: Anyone know of a good source for "custom" hydroboost hos
In our area, "powerdrive inc." can make any hose in about 5 minutes! I don't know if there are any locations in your area, but, I'm sure that the one in Erie, Pa. could make you what ever you needed.

Re: Brake material question
I believe Praise Dyno was either sold or re-named Muscle Car brakes. They are still in Texas. Once you see their website, you'll recognize all of the old praise dyno nomenclature and kit stages.

Re: AFR 210 Eliminator heads flow #'s
Thanks I will check him out, but if anyone has some first hand experience I'd like to hear their results as well. AFR is claiming over 300 cfm with these heads. I'm also curious as to why such a large intake valve for only a 210cc head? I believe that the stock intake valve on a 210 is a 2.08. The ...

Re: BBC Gen5/6 roller cam will it work in a Mark4 block?
Bob, does that Gen5/6 cam have a fuel pump pushrod lobe? I think some did and some did not. Only a problem if the customer is intent on running a mechanical pump.
